Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Norman Baxter of Baker City; grandsons, Greg Baxter and Dean Baxter, both of Baker City, and Grant Baxter of Fruitland, Idaho; granddaughter, Maxine Christofferson, of Lehi, Utah; 24 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was 52. She was born in Weston May 6, 1904, and attended school there, graduating from high school ihn 1922. She attended college for one year and taught public school for one year. In 1926 she moved to Walla Walla, where she was employed in a local laundry for many years. She was a member and active worker of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and was superintendent of the Sunday School. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Pattie) Tittman of Spokane and Mrs. Shirley Ward of Walla Walla; one son, James R. Wiley of Walla Walla; one sister, Mrs. Edward (Rita) Van Horn of Walla Walla; and four grandchildren. The funeral is planned for 1:30 p.m. Monday at a local funeral home. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Janice Dahl, 42, 518 Balm St., died at St. Mary Community Hospital Thursday following a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of God, 928 Sturm Ave., with the Rev. Howard E. Baker officiating. Private burial will follow. Friends who wish may contribute to the Northwest Kidney Foundation through the Colonial-DeWitt Funeral Home. Mrs. Dahl was born Jan. 25, 1934, in Walla Walla, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin VanHorn. She attended Berney School and graduated from Walla Walla High School. She was a secretary employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Walla Walla for nine years. She was married to Marvin L. Dahl March 13, 1954, in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Walla Walla. He survives at the family home. Mrs. Dahl was a member of the First Church of God, Debbie Guild Sorority and the Northwest Kidney Foundation. Mrs. Dahl invested her time during her long illness with hobbies and writing poems. Besides her widower, she is survived by her daughter, Revecca "Becky" Dahl, at the home; her stepdaughter, Roxanne White, Portland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin VanHorn, Walla Walla; her sisters, Janette Black and Linda Reyburn, both of Walla Walla; her brother, Gary VanHorn, Portland, and one grandchild. Lee, 759 Village Way, Walla Walla, formerly of Milton-Freewater, passed away August 5, 1997 at his home at the age of 70 years. Funeral services were Friday, August 8, at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Milton-Freewater with Rev. Sally Carlson of the Grace Presbyterian Church officiating. Concluding services and interment were in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Mr. Lee was born May 8, 1927 at his family's home on Dry Creek near M-F, the son of Robert and Ada Bannister Lee. He attended Grove and Central schools and graduated from McLoughlin Union High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, receiving the WWII Victory Medal and American Area Campaign Medal. After his discharge from the Navy he attended Oregon State University. On September 4, 1949 he married Patricia Ann Porter at the Federated Church in M-F. The couple lived and worked in the North Richland area of Washington where Mr. Lee worked in construction in the Hanford area. From 1957 to 1967 the couple farmed the Lee Homestead south of M-F where he was born. In 1967 they settled on an irrigated tract of ground near Umapine, farming there until 1996 when they moved to their present residence, a new house which Mr. Lee designed and furnished. Mr. Lee was a family man and enjoyed his children and all aspects of his farming operation. Several nieces and nephews spent summers helping with work on the farm. He was a member of the American Legion and helped with their annual dinners. He enjoyed fishing, camping and fishing for salmon in the Pacific Ocean. He liked to play cards with his family and bridge and poker with his friends. Mr. Lee helped with Cub Scouts and Little League when his boys were that age. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #24, and was a past board member of Pendleton Grain Growers and was a past board member and owner of Century Chemical in Milton-Freewater. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife Patricia Lee at the home; two sons, John D. Lee and David Lee, both of M-F; two daughters, Peggy Ann Johnson of Salem OR, and Susan E. Reedy of Jefferson, OR; three sisters, Roberta Burles of Lakeside, OR, Bernita Piper of Walla Walla, and Frances Paynter of Portland, five grandsons, Andrew Lee, Nathan Lee, and John Brinker Lee, all of M-F, and Jacob Reedy, and Daniel Reedy, both of Jefferson, OR; one granddaughter, Stefani E.
