Korte Family 2008 Year in Review 31 December 2008 The following photo summary has been prepared for our family history, but may also be of interest to extended family and friends especially those who we do not get to see so often

In January, Jamie graduated from the Fort Largs Police Academy and is currently a probationary constable in the Salisbury service area
Laura and Thomas Jamie Emma had her 21 st birthday on 19 January. Celebrations included a dress up party held the following week at Prospect (Emma was Helen of Troy)
After completing a Bachelor of Design in 2007, Emma took the year off from study and is working full time for Grieve Gillett architects. Emma was overseas from late July to mid September first in Turkey for a 4-week offshore studio with her University class followed by a 21-day Contiki tour and other time spent in Europe (including a Church YSA convention in London)
Admirals Arch Remarkable Rocks Paul s Place In July, the family had a Kangaroo Island holiday (minus Emma who was overseas). The weather was cold and blustery but a good time was had by all.

In August, Thomas turned 12 and was able to attend the temple for the first time (www.mormon.org). He was called as Deacons Quorum President in our ward (church congregation) and each week organises the passing of the sacrament. Thomas continued to play tennis and soccer in 2008.
Laura with friends Jill and Debbie at their joint 18 th birthday party Firle Stake seminary graduation Laura with three of her Year 12 friends Olivia, Abbie and Naomi Laura had a number of milestones in 2008 her 18 th birthday, graduating from High School (top of subject award for music) and graduating from seminary (a 4-year early morning scripture study class). Laura had the added challenge of contracting glandular fever in September. She plans to study Psychology.
In 1928 (right) with brother Ernst and sister Ilse In 1952 before immigrating to Australia Fritz Wilhelm Korte 1920-2008 Rainer, sister Sabine, brother Ralph and mother Christel at the funeral On 2 November, Rainer s Dad passed away at the age of 88. The funeral was held on 8 November at St Peters Lutheran Church in Loxton, South Australia.
The proposal painting Jamie and his family at the engagement party On 28 November, Jamie popped the question to Sunny Sizer after they had been going out for about 21 months. Their engagement party was held on 20 December at the Sizer s home in Marion.
With Sharyn in Melbourne on her 40 th birthday Rainer and Kerrie enjoyed spending time together with highlights including a weekend away in Melbourne for Sharyn Basil s 40 th birthday and to see the musical Wicked, and Andre Rieu in Adelaide.
Kerrie with Dorothy and Maria in front of Dorothy s place in Hobart Kerrie continues to be active at the gym. In February, she had a girls weekend away with Laura and two of her school friends (Olivia and Naomi) to see Hilary Duff in Sydney. In November, Kerrie and Maria Russo took a few days out to visit friend Dorothy Harris in Hobart.
Executive Manager Regulation and Corporate Services, Rainer Korte Rainer is responsible for ElectraNet s regulatory affairs including revenue regulation, engagement with regulatory authorities and Government policy advisers, managing the impact of National Electricity Market developments on the business and regulated transmission pricing. He is also responsible for business improvement, risk management and insurance, internal audit, environmental management, occupational health, safety and welfare, media and communications, and facilities management. Rainer still works in the electricity industry and in 2008 was promoted to ElectraNet s executive management team. At Church he continues to serve as a member of the Firle Stake Presidency.
