Access Statement: Self-Catering Cottage Introduction School Cottages - Self-catering cottage is a stone built end of terrace cottage adjoining School Cottages Bed and Breakfast. We have tried to include as much information as possible, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you. Pre-Arrival We have an informative website Bookings can be made via email, phone or letter Booking information available in large print on request The nearest bus stop (to local towns as well as the cities of Bath and Bristol) is 40 metres from the entrance The nearest train station (Keynsham) is 4 miles away Bath Spa train station is 6 miles away This access statement is available on our website and in the welcome file in the cottage Arrival and Car Parking Facilities The car park is clearly marked from 'The Street and is shared with the Bed and Breakfast with one space allocated to the cottage The car park is level tarmac There is also street parking but this would then mean walking up the sloping driveway The car park is 10 metres from the entrance There is 1 step from the car park to the path which leads to the entrance - 7cm high The entrance is reached via a gravel path 1 metre wide, which leads to a flagstone path leading to the cottage porch Main Entrance, Reception and Ticketing Area There are no steps to the front door The flagstone path leads to a an open oak porch which is 90 cm wide There is a large doormat in the front porch outside the front door The front door (hinged on the right) is 91 cm wide and the key holes are 70 cm and 140 cm high The front door opens into the living/dining area There are light switches to the left as you enter the living room
The floor is laid with non-slip quarry tiles and a thick wool rug (of a contrasting colour) in the sitting area On the coffee table is the 'Welcome Pack' which has all details about the cottage within it Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc. Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc. Not available Public WCs Dining Room and Lounge The floor is laid with non-slip quarry tiles and a thick wool rug (of a contrasting colour) in the sitting area To the left is the lounge area with 2 seater settee, nest of side tables, coffee table, fireplace and 2 easy chairs (without arms) To the right is the drop leaf dining table with 4 fold away chairs inside. When extended the table measures 130 cm by 85 cm, and 73 cm from floor to lowest point of table. There is a further upright chair in the master bedroom Free space between lounge furniture and dining furniture is at least 140 cm all around Furniture is all moveable and non-feather Digital TV provided with Freeview, Teletext and remote control (also provided are DVD, stereo with CD, radio and cassette). Laundry There is no separate laundry but there is a standard size washing machine, which is front loading, provided in the utility room. A drying rack is provided in the under stairs cupboard Shop
