Cache-Rich Association of REALTORS 1451 North 200 East #130A Logan, Utah 84341 Association www.cacherich.com 435.753.1044 CONNECTION A Message from Your President EDITION 14 Summer 2018 If you don t create change, change will create you. I think often we are resistant to change. We resist it and avoid it because we don t realize that change itself is constant. It will enter your life just the same. When we initiate change ourselves, it s pretty easy to adapt to it, since it s wanted. But are the unplanned and unexpected changes bad? Larry Bradley 2018 PRESIDENT 435.232-6767 larry@ gowithabode.com In looking back, I realize that all the good things in my life were the results of changes that occurred in the past. A few benefits of change I have found are: Personal Growth. You discover new insights, lessons are learned and you re led places you never though you wanted to be. Flexibility. Frequent changes allows you to more easily adapt. It might be new people, new environments, new relationships or new business opportunities. Improvement. We all have things in our lives we d like to improve, whether that be finances, profession, house, etc. Without change, there d be no improvement. Strength. Not all changes lead to pleasant periods of life. Overcoming the tough times makes us stronger. Opportunities & New Beginnings. No one knows for certain what each change will bring, but there are plenty of opportunities waiting. Change can be a turning page that brings new beginnings and excitement to life. I bring this up because some big changes are happening within the Association. Technology continues to change the way we conduct business and the new wave of millennials entering the business as Realtors and has home buyers is changing the way we communicate. As an Association, your board of directors is working to hard to anticipate what s coming, and what we need to do to adapt and stay relevant. I d like to address two big changes that are happening this year. The first being that our Association Election process will now be conducted online, using a program already integrated into our MLS system. Paper ballots and absentee ballots will no longer be accepted. All members will have the opportunity to cast their vote starting July 23rd to August 6th. You will be prompted to vote when you log into the MLS, and will be allowed only one vote per user login. Election winners will be announced at the August 7th Business Luncheon. Information about the candidates will be distributed to members via this newsletter and our Association website. We encourage all members to get to know those running for office. Another big change for the Association is that of our name change. Pending NAR approval (which will take place at the National Association of REALTORS convention in Boston, in November), our Association will be knowns as the... CACHE VALLEY Association of REALTORS Changing the name has been a topic of discussion for many years now and it s finally been put into motion. We are excited about this change and know it will be a positive step as we work to promote our local members. ADVOCACY + ETHICS + EDUCATION Larry Bradley

CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE PRESIDENT-ELECT I am a full-time Real Estate Broker in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. As a 45+ year resident of Cache Valley, I have spent countless hours getting to know the area and all it has to offer. I have been helping people buy and sell properties since 2001. I attend annual real estate training and leadership conferences around the country, continually trying to improve my abilities and serve my clients, agents and our Association. Lisa Udy PLATINUM REAL ESTATE I am sincerely dedicated to my work. I have honestly loved serving on the Board of Directors for the last 3 years and am ready for a new challenge. I would gladly take on the responsibilities of President- Elect and dedicate all the time and energy required of the job. I get tremendous satisfaction in knowing I am helping and learning new things. My favorite part of this job is getting to know people and developing long-term relationship! I am an avid gardener and have completed the local master gardener s classes. Going along with that obsessive hobby, I love to cook and can my own food. I also love to golf, although I am not good, but it is always fun to be outside. I have been married to my sweetheart for 20 years and together we have 5 kids, 4 sons/daughters in-law and 8 grandkids. Robert Brown has been a licensed REALTOR since 2005 and a Principal Broker since 2010. Robert is a REALTOR through and through, has been a major RPAC investor for 8 consecutive years and will attend his 11th consecutive NAR Annual conference in November. He loves this industry, has a high level of respect for all of his peers and fellow REALTOR members and has a passion for improving the professionalism of our industry. Robert Brown CORNERSTONE REAL ESTATE PROSFESSIONALS TREASURER Kyle Saunders CENTURY 21 N&N REALTORS His Local and State and National REALTOR service includes: Board of Directors 2013-2015 and 2017 to current, Utah Association of REALTORS Legislative Committee 2016-current, UAR Leadership Academy Vice Dean in 2017, UAR Leadership Academy Dean in 2018, NAR Tech Edge presenter in 2018, and numerous local committee chair terms over, RPAC, Government Affairs, PR and Business Committee. Robert's experience speaks for itself. He's committed and ready to assume the role of President-Elect for the Cache-Rich Association of REALTORS if elected. Let me start by offering a sincere thank you for supporting me as I run for the position of Treasurer in our association. What an awesome opportunity to be able to give back to an organization that has already given so much to me. I am excited at the prospects of being able to apply the accounting skills that I teach my students to the position of Cache-Rich Association Treasurer. For the past 13 years, I have been in a position of leadership where I monitor and maintain a very tight budget. This has taught me how to work within a set budget, prioritize and make financial decisions based on best use of funds, and continue to accomplish what needed to be done all within the constraints of the allowed budget. I have also served in the past as a treasurer for the Utah Business Education Association. My time on the Cache Rich Association education committee both as a member and as the chair have provided opportunities for me to become a better team player. It has allowed me to raise my level of participation in the association and I have enjoyed helping provide educational opportunities for members of the association as well as learning more about how the association works. Being able to participate in organizations where I can share my knowledge, expertise, and leadership are rewarding to me. I have served in the Boy Scouts of America for nearly 30 years, organized a team and participated in Relay for Life for the past 5 years, and for the last 3 years I have helped run aid stations for the Bear 100 Ultra-marathon.

Brittany Andrus YOUNGBLOOD REAL ESTATE Hi, I'm Kent Dunkley, I've lived in Cache Valley all of my life, and I love it! Following my graduation from Utah State University in finance, I made the decision to remain in the Real Estate industry and joined Century 21 at that time. I love all sporting activities including cycling, and love spending time with my family and friends and our yellow lab Luke making memories that last a lifetime! I'm very lucky and fortunate to work with my boss and spouse, Teri, at Century 21! I have served in many different leadership capacities for the Cache-Rich Association of REALTORS. It is important to me to give back when and where I can, and that is why I am running for this position. Kent Dunkley CENTURY 21 N&N REALTORS As each of you, my friends and fellow REALTOR Members of the Cache Rich Association of REALTORS. are considering who to vote for in this year s election to represent you on our 2019 Board of Directors, I would like to provide you with a little information regarding myself and why I am running for a third two year term. As many of you know, I am a mother of 4, grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 6 great granddaughters. I am an Associate Broker, licensed in both Utah and Idaho. I have been a Professional Real Estate Agent for close to 30 years, first being licensed in Delaware. I love our profession of Real Estate and take great pride in who we as an organization and of our service to those who live in the communities of Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. The continued and ever growing complexities of our real estate profession are what keeps me thinking young in my 74th year. I have been a member of the Cache Rich Association of REALTORS, for close to 29 years and have served on the Board of Directors for two, two year terms and a member of the Brigham Tremonton Board of REALTORS for over 10 years and have served on their Board of Directors for one, three year term. I also had the unique opportunity to serve on the Core Standards Committees for both boards as each were working to meet the extensive requirements of the NAR. One of my personal goals has always been to remember that more important than our individual companies, each of us, are members of the same profession and members of the Cache Rich Association of REALTORS. I have gained much from our profession, from each of you and our Association during the last 29 years and feel so very strongly that it continues to be the correct time in my life to give back to our Association and to each of you by providing my time and efforts to help the Cache Rich Association of REALTORS to continue growing while remaining the outstanding Association it is, within the UAR and the NAR. CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE I'm a 30 year resident of Cache Valley and feel like I have practically grown up here. Other than brief stints in the US Army and living in Brazil, the Logan area has always been my home. My wife Amy and I currently live in Logan, where we spend our time chasing kids, skiing and fishing. I try to stay active in my neighborhood, making/maintaining friendships and just trying to be a good dude. I also serve on the Woodruff Community Council. It's fun to drive around the valley and see how things have changed - some changes have been really good, some maybe not so much. Cache Valley is still, in my opinion, a hidden gem where the beauty, industry and people all come together to make it a wonderful place to practice real estate. I see the value in protecting our profession and standing up for our neighbors, friends and family and their rights as home and business owners. Wyatt Olsen BOOMERRANG REAL ESTATE This business has given me so much over the last 8+ years and now I feel like it's time for me to step up and give back. There have been many of our fellow Realtors who have sacrificed of their time to help protect what we do and make our lives easier behind the scenes. I appreciate them and I welcome the opportunity. I promise to do my best and to work with others to continue to make this the best profession ever! Marian Fielding PARKER REAL ESTATE I am Marian Fielding, Associate Broker with Parker Real Estate Services. I have been a full time agent 19 years. I am married to Vern Fielding and we are both licensed in Utah and Idaho. Together we have 8 kids, a daughter and son in-law, and 2 absolutely adorable grandchildren. Our youngest is now starting 1st grade, so I have a more flexible schedule to be able to serve during the day. I am committed to attend all the required meetings and activities. I have served on the board in the past and am familiar with how the board operates. I have also served on or chaired several committees. I am proud to be a member of this Association and am excited to serve at the board level again. I am committed to provide a listening ear as we work together to improve our association. Thank you for your consideration, I would appreciate your vote. My name is Shelby Cardall, and I am the Owner/Broker of North Realty. I have been a Realtor for 11 years and real estate is truly my passion. Real estate has given me the amazing ability to provide for my family and raise my beautiful children. My husband is my best friend, and we have four rowdy boys, ages three to seven. We love to camp, travel, play games, and spend time together. My family is the reason I work as hard as I do as a Realtor and broker. I have been proud to call Cache Valley home ever since moving to Utah to attend Utah State University, and I would love nothing more than to serve on the board of directors for the Cache Rich Association of Realtors. I take pride in serving and helping my clients reach their real estate goals. I believe one of my most important duties is to help educate my clients and agents so they make the best decisions for each situation. Because of my desire to be knowledgeable and share correct information, I make continuing education for myself a priority. I am continually reading and studying real estate materials, signing up for more classes, and seeking additional knowledge through a variety of training resources. I also believe that involvement in the community and our local Realtor association is very important. I always try to lead by example. Serving on the board of directors will set an example for my office. If elected to the board of directors, I commit to serving the Realtors of Cache Valley as we strive to better our profession, build our community, and strengthen our professional bonds. I look forward to serving the Cache Rich Association of Realtors! Shelby Cardall NORTH REALTY Electronic voting will be conducted through UtahRealEstate.com starting July 23 and closing August 6. Each Realtor member may vote for one President-Elect, one Treasurer and three Directors. Winners will be announced at the August 7 Business Luncheon.
