DESCRIPTION: Wresden Farm is a fascinating property with many different attributes. It comprises a 17th century Grade II* listed house and a superb early 18th century barn, set in over 6 acres in which there are a series of attractive mill ponds as well as paddocks and mixed woodland - a naturalist's paradise. It is written that in the early 1600's John Eyles was the first in the parish to weave cloth imported from Spain. The 1687 plaque above the historic porch is said the represent the date of his marriage. The house has an elevated position and a southerly aspect with dramatic rural views. It is attached to a period cottage in separate ownership, which is offset from it. Records show the original mill as dating back to the 17th century - there is a date stone IEE 1687 on the two storey front porch of the house. Inside, the building has a real sense of history with many period features, including a magnificent Jacobean bed, believed to be part of the original structure and reputably, a concealed Priest's Hole.
