Hotel Accessibility Pack Thank you for considering the Hilton Aberdeen Treetops Hotel. We are pleased to provide you with information about our hotel and our accessible facilities and services that you may find useful when planning your visit. Directions from the A90 South Stonehaven Road As you enter Aberdeen from the A90 south dual carriage way, take the second exit on your left at the roundabout. This will take you across the Bridge of Dee. Go straight ahead onto South Anderson Drive following straight through a further 2 roundabouts and a set of traffic lights. On approaching the next round about, take a left onto Seafield Road and follow this road until you come to a set of traffic lights positioned at cross roads. Turn right at this junction. The hotel is situated 300 yards on your left. Directions from A90 Aberdeen Airport Road When leaving Aberdeen Airport, take a left when coming out of the terminal and left again at a set of traffic lights. On approaching the next round about turn left onto the Inverurie Road and follow signs for the city centre. After passing the Grampian Police buildings on your right, you are now in Bucksburn. Keep going on the same road and go straight through a set of traffic lights. You will then reach a large round about which connects you to North Anderson Drive. Turn right (3 rd exit) and carry on up the dual carriage way. Go straight through a further 3 round abouts and 3 sets of traffic lights. On approaching the next round about, turn right (3 rd exit) onto Queens Road. Go straight along Queens Road and turn left at the 4 th exit onto Springfield Road. The hotel is situated 500 yards on your right hand side. Directions from Aberdeen City Centre (Union Street) Head west up Union Street until you reach a fork in the road and go straight through the traffic lights onto Alybn Place. Carry on along the road through 3 round abouts. After the 3 rd round about on Queens Road turn left at the 4 th exit onto Springfield Road. The hotel is situated 500 yards on your right hand side. Train and Bus Stations The train and bus stations are located in Aberdeen city centre (Guild Street), approximately 3 miles from the hotel. Local Bus Routes The local number 15 bus route runs regularly from Union Street in the city centre to the entrance of the hotel. Bus timetable information is available from 1

Main Entrance There are 7 steps to access the main entrance door. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp at the main entrance. There is an official drop off point for disabled guests outside the main entrance adjacent to the ramp. The main entrance has an automatic sliding door. There are 7 disabled parking spaces adjacent to the main entrance of the hotel. If you require assistance with luggage, equipment, or any guidance, reception is manned 24 hours a day. Please ask for assistance and we will be happy to help. The main entrance is tiled. Foyer and Reception Area There are no steps in the main lobby area. The reception desk is directly ahead of you as you enter from the main hotel entrance. In the main foyer is a seating area. To the far right of the main entrance area is the restaurant and bar. The ground floor lobby is carpeted and tiled. There is an induction loop behind the reception desk. From the reception area, the lift is on to the right, through the bar, as you face the reception desk. The lift has an announcement to let you know what floor you are on and tactile buttons with markings that can be felt at the regulation height. The lift door is 81cm wide. The lift car is 133 cm x 96 cm. There are ground floor standard double and standard twin rooms to the right which have no stairs to access the rooms. There are ground floor standard single, standard double, standard twin, deluxe double rooms and a suite to the left which have 4 steps to access the rooms. 2

Check-in is at the main reception desk, which is 113cm high. A member of staff can come out from behind reception to assist you with check in if required and there are a number of low level tables in the foyer area. Other services Every guest room has a guest directory that contains information about the facilities in the hotel. For help to use this directory, please contact a member of the reception team. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet in the foyer area on the left with cubicle door with an opening width of 99 cm. There are handrails on either side of the toilet. Telephones All bedrooms have a telephone. Springfield s Bar Springfield s Bar is located on the ground floor of the hotel on the right hand side of Table service is available for food and beverages. The bar service area is tiled and the seating area is carpeted. Springfield s Restaurant Springfield s Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel on the right hand side of reception and is on 2 levels. The main entrance to the restaurant is tiled and the rest of the area is carpeted. Table seating is available on ground and upper level. There are 3 stairs to access the upper level area. 3

LivingWell Health Club The health club has swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gymnasium and beauty salon. A complimentary water dispenser is available The health club is located on the lower ground floor and can be accessed from inside or outside the hotel. To access the club from outside, there are 14 steps to the main club entrance or 5 steps by accessing the main entrance from the far right entrance. To access the club from inside the hotel, take the lift to the basement floor. There are 7 steps from the lift area to the main health club. The health club does not have a wheelchair accessible entrance. The reception area of the club is wooden laminate. The floors in the gym areas are carpeted. The health club is manned during club opening hours. There is an induction loop behind the reception desk. There is a transit chair in case of emergency. Accessible changing facilities are available with low-level washing facilities, lockers, and an accessible panic alarm cord, a pull-down chair by the showers and a moveable showerhead. The door has an opening width of 72 cm and is wheelchair accessible. Internet Facilities Complimentary WIFI is available in the hotel public areas. In room WIFI is available via BT Openzone at an extra charge. Please ask our reception team for more information. 4

Accessible Bedrooms The hotel has 3 accessible bedrooms. Room 5 Double Deluxe Plus This room is located on the lower ground floor and can be accessed from inside and outside the hotel. The maximum occupancy for this room is 2 adults and the room is non smoking. To access the room from inside, from reception there are 7 steps followed by a further 15 steps. Alternatively a key can be provided for the external entrance which is accessible from exiting the hotel through the main entrance and entering the room area from the external door. The bedroom door has an opening width of 77 cm. The bathroom door has an opening width of 77 cm. A panic alarm is available in both the bedroom and the bathroom which is linked to Lowered spy hole. Grab rails on both sides of the toilet. A low level toilet with back support Low mount towel storage A low level bath (48 cm) with seat, low level taps and adjustable shower head. A low level sink. Room 120 Double Deluxe This room is located on the first floor of the hotel and can be accessed by lift or stairs. This room has a double bed with option of sofa bed to be made up in the room. Please note if sofa bed is in use, limited room space is available. Maximum occupancy 2 adults and up to 2 small children under 10 sharing sofa bed. To access the room by lift, take the lift to the first floor. To access the room by stairs, from reception go through the bar. There are 20 stairs to reach the room. The bedroom door has an opening width of 74 cm. The bathroom door has an opening width of 81 cm. A panic alarm is available in both the bedroom and the bathroom which are linked to Lowered spy hole. To access the room by stairs, from reception go through the bar. There are 20 stairs to reach the room. The bedroom door has an opening width of 74 cm. Bathroom contains bath tub with over bath shower and standard toilet/sink facilities. Standard Single Rooms Our standard single rooms feature 1 single bed. Maximum occupancy is 1 adult. Bedroom doors have an opening width of 69 cm. Bathroom doors have an opening width of 70 cm. Room size is approximately 12.8 metres squared. 6

Deluxe Double Rooms Our deluxe double rooms feature 1 double bed with sofa which can be made into a sofa bed. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults plus 2 small children under 10 sharing sofa bed. Bedroom doors have an opening width of 74 cm. Bathroom doors have an opening width of 66 cm. Room size is approximately 42 metres squared. Bathroom size is approximately 4.4 metres squared. Bathroom contains bath tub with over bath shower and standard toilet/sink facilities with the exception of accessible rooms 120/121, the facilities which are detailed above. Deluxe Plus Double Rooms Our deluxe plus double rooms feature 1 double bed. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults. Bedroom doors have an opening width of 74 cm. Bathroom doors have an opening width of 66 cm. Room size is approximately 35 metres squared. Bathroom size is approximately 15 metres squared. Bathroom contains bath tub with over bath shower and standard toilet/sink facilities with the exception of accessible room 5, the facilities which are detailed above. Family Suite Room 117 Our family suite features 1 double bed. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults plus 2 children. Main bedroom door has an opening width of 69 cm. Second bedroom door has an opening width of 71 cm. Bathroom door has an opening width of 63 cm. Main bedroom size is approximately 42 metres squared. Second bedroom size is approximately 23.5 metres squared. Bathroom size is approximately 3.8 metres squared. Bathroom contains bath tub with over bath shower and standard toilet/sink facilities. Conference Facilities The hotel has 9 conference and event rooms suitable for meetings and events. There are 3 rooms on the ground floor and 6 rooms on the first floor. Access to the ground floor rooms is from reception with no steps. The first floor meeting rooms can be accessed either by the main staircase which has 21 steps, or by taking the lift to the first floor. Bathroom facilities are on the ground floor of the hotel. 7

The Beechwood suite located on the ground floor is fitted with an induction loop hearing system. All of the upstairs meeting rooms and corridors to the rooms are carpeted. The Business Hub area has a tiled floor and well lit. The coffee machines in the Hub are easily accessible for wheelchair users and a member of the Events staff is at hand for any assistance needed. In an Emergency Please familiarise yourself with the hotel fire and evacuation procedures which are detailed on the door in your guest room. If you require this information in large print please contact If the alarm rings, this will be a claxon (loud horn type) noise. If you are in your room and are unable to evacuate the building safely, please stay in your room. We will send a staff member to your room immediately if you have registered that you have additional needs in your reservation booking. He or she will knock on your door and enter using a fire key. They will then help you either to a refuge area in the hotel to await further instructions, or out of the building. When you leave your room, please do not stop to collect your personal belongings other than medication that you may need. The evacuation assembly points are located at the bottom of the car park. Refuge points are located nearby each accessible bedroom. Lightweight evacuation chairs are available at the refuge points. The door to your bedroom is fire resistant for 1 hour. If you are in your room, please do not block the door with anything, including towels, as this will prevent the fire brigade from entering your room. Do not open any windows as this can increase the air circulating and increase the smoke and flames. If the fire is in your room, if possible please exit the room and close the door behind you. If possible, please raise the alarm by breaking a break glass point on your way out. If you are unable to exit the room please dial reception on 0 to raise the alarm. 8

The emergency alarm is tested each Monday at 10. 30 Am., when the claxon will sound for no more than one minute.
