To allow an existing roofed deck to encroach 3.05m (10 ft) into the rear yard, resulting in a rear yard setback of 4.57m (15 ft) whereas the by-law permits a roofed deck to encroach 1.5m (4.92 ft) resulting in a rear yard setback of 6.1m (20.01 ft).
