University of Missouri ArchSt 4814 Interior Design Studio IV, A student writes, In the redesign of an office building, students were provided with an extensive program detailing the goals of the company. We visited a company that had similar strategies and design concepts in order to gain an understanding of what was expected from the program itself. Multiple plans and design concepts were generated to properly exhibit the entire list of expectations within the company. All coursework, project focus and instruction was developed and taught by myself as sole instructor using CIDA guidelines and department course objectives as the central foundation development. I developed and taught this course as a singular and vertical studio. ArchSt 1200 Architectural Drafting and Working Drawings This course is structured to teach design students the process of generating basic presentation and working drawings through classroom drafting exercises. Using a handson studio approach, the course teaches students basic knowledge of architectural drawing principles, construction drawing conventions, two and three dimensional drawing methods, and quality graphic communication skills. A student s technical skills and drawing craftsmanship will be improved through readings, lectures, and drawing exercises. The drawing exercises help students to develop skill and competency in execution of design and working drawings. The skills to create clean, clear, and concise presentation and working drawings based on standard graphic conventions will be developed during the course of the assignments. Student work will be evaluated for comprehension and execution of professional quality, design and working drawings. Work will also be evaluated for composition (layout), neatness, and accuracy. ArchSt 3100 Color and Light, Color wheel; Pattern textile changes; Masters' use of color; Alber's color perception studies; Color harmony with color proportions; Color material boards with specifications; Lighting design critical analysis; Critical layers of light at Alumni Center; Utilizing Internet simulations in specifying; Analyzing published lighting work and comparing calculation methods; Fixture schedule and cut sheets; Lighting application with color project Course model of a flipped classroom with 53 students. Teaching assistant along Dr. Ruth Tofle with instruction and was responsible for communicating with students for all assignment and project grading. ArchSt 4813 Interior Design Studio III, Exercises solve simple to complex issues of problem identification and solving for specific space types--retail, and hospitality. Concrete requirements for preparing students with the design of more complex environments with theoretical application. Commercial interior furnishings, and management of interior spaces and architecture. The project program are developed from summary of interviews with like settings and programmatic information research. 3
