SIR ANTONY FISHER FREEDOM AWARD SIR ANTONY FISHER was one of the most influential progenitors in the global rise of free-market think tanks during the second half of the twentieth century. Starting with the Institute of Economic Affairs in 1957, he helped to establish 150 other think tanks worldwide. In 1979 Sir Antony Fisher teamed up with San Francisco businessman James North to establish the Pacific Research Institute. The Sir Antony Fisher Freedom Award pays tribute to an individual, who through determination and unflagging commitment, has greatly advanced freedom and liberty in California and the nation.
