Retreat Accommodation Mudbrick Houses Sleeps 27-35 (additional futons and mattresses sleep a further eight than shown in the bedding layout below. The Muddies feature two large kitchens, five bathrooms, dining and lounge areas, verandahs, decks and a laundry. All three houses are connected with walkways and include undercover parking. The Back Shed Sleeps up to 10 (6 single beds and mattresses). The Back Shed includes a kitchen, bathroom, deck, upstairs balcony and a large multipurpose space. Only available with the hire of the Mudbrick Houses. Electric heating only. BYO linen, towels and toiletries. Bush Cabins Sleeps 5/7 (top cabin/bottom cabin). Each cabin includes a double room, triple-bunk room, kitchen, bathroom/laundry, lounge/dining with fireplace and verandah. Bottom cabin includes a fold out sofa bed. BYO linen, towels and toiletries. Round House Sleeps 4-6. Two double rooms, kitchen, lounge (including a futon sofa for two) and a dining area. Yoga Hall For the exclusive use of yoga/pilates/meditation groups. No wedding activities are to take place inside the yoga hall please. Guests are welcome to practice their yoga here. Retreat Venue Rates The following rates apply for Bamarang Bush Retreat to be used as a venue for your special occasion and includes a surcharge for additional cleaning, waste disposal and maintenance. Minimum of two-night stay on all accommodation. Discounts apply to 7+ night stays and mid-week specials are available. Catering and Services Bamarang does not have in-house catering or décor services, which means you re welcome to hire in whatever services you wish. All food, beverage, décor, additional furniture and lighting can be brought into the venue. There are also two gas heaters on the deck for outdoor use in cooler months. Bamarang Bush Retreat provides numerous long tables, lounges and chairs to accommodate over 50 guests on the main deck. For many groups the furniture available is sufficient. However you may wish to hire in uniform tables and chairs from a party hire company. Either way you are free to transform the retreat into the space you so desire. We only insist that all furniture is returned to its original position after used. The kitchen is House 1 is stocked with cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware (all preloved therefore expect an eclectic mix there are no matching sets here!). Once again for many groups and caterers this is perfect, for other groups especially weddings with three course meals their preference is to bring equipment (especially chef knives) and table settings. This is a discussion to have with your caterers. Cleaning Products & Supplies Cleaning products are provided under the kitchen sink of residences. Backup supplies including spare toilet paper, more linen, tea towels, bathmats, tablecloths are stored in the bathroom/laundry of House 2. Washing machines are situated behind House 2, in the cabins and at the round house, and may be used freely. Page 6 of 11
Garbage & Compost Please separate recyclable items from general waste and ensure they are disposed of in the clearly marked bins provided (keep cardboard separate). All food scraps should be disposed of in the food scraps only bins. Help us remain as sustainable as possible. Page 7 of 11
Directions Bamarang Bush Retreat is located 2.5hrs from both Sydney and Canberra. Once in Nowra, head along Princes Highway until you reach the intersection with Archer Hotel to the east and Nowra Cemetery to the west. Turn west onto KALANDAR STREET past the cemetery, take the second exit at the roundabout onto ALBATROSS ROAD. Continue straight through the next roundabout and then turn right 300m later onto YALWAL ROAD. After ~5km turn right onto LONGREACH ROAD and just 200m further turn left onto BAMARANG ROAD (you will see the blue sign for the retreat). Travel down the steep road veering slightly left and passing the dairy on the right. Once past the white letterbox, drive another 200m and turn left to access the Bush Cabins (bottom cabin to the left, top cabin to the right) and the Round House (right). For the Mudbrick Houses and Yoga Hall take the main entrance 100m further up the road look for the Junk Mail letterbox and The Back Shed is 50m past the main entrance. Page 8 of 11
Visitor Responsibilities Bamarang Bush Retreat can continue to offer accommodation and venue hire at affordable rates if guests can help in a few basic ways. 1. Bins. Please use the food scrap buckets and mixed recycle bins to dispose of a majority of waste and keep cardboard separate. The waste bin should be used as the last resort. If your group needs more bins, please let us know before arrival. 2. Fires. We provide wood at the houses for your stay. If it is needed, there is more firewood but please respect the amount of work required to replenish firewood. Other than on the main balcony of House 1, outdoor fires are not permitted. If outdoor fires are discovered, a firewood levy will be charged. 3. Furniture and equipment. While you stay with us, Bamarang is your home away from home and you can rearrange furniture and kitchenware as you please. The late check out allows you to make the most of your stay; so please, before you leave, return all furniture and kitchenware to its original location. 4. Cleaning. Please ensure all kitchen equipment and dishes are washed and cleared away. Remove any food items from the kitchen and ensure leftovers are correctly disposed of in bins provided. If using candles, use appropriate candleholders and scrape all spilt candle wax from surfaces. 5. Decorations. If used, please remove all Blu-Tac, sticky tape, paper, confetti etc. 6. Bedding. At all times pillowcases, top and fitted sheet must be used with our bedding. If you have forgotten it, let us know. Leave used beds unmade. 7. Booked space. Use only the specific accommodation booked, a cleaning fee will apply for any additional spaces used. The yoga hall is a designated space therefore unless you are with a retreat please do not use the space and keep children out. For retreat guests, strictly no food is to be taken into the yoga hall. 8. Pets. Our retreat is pet friendly. Please keep it that way by ensuring pets stay off all furniture, bring bedding for your animal and ensure any mess is cleaned before leaving. We want to continue welcoming your four legged friends! 9. Repairs. Please notify the manager of any repairs you identify, we appreciate your feedback in ensuring the Retreat is well maintained. 10. Smoking. Under no circumstances should cigarette butts be flicked into ANY outdoor areas this particular rule prevents bushfires and protects waterways. Please only smoke outside and dispose of your butts in ashtrays or waste bins. 11. Checkout. Please turn off all lights & fans, close all windows & doors and ensure food scrap bins are sealed to deter animals and critters from the house. If responsibilities are not adhered to, it is possible the manager will issue an additional cleaning bill. We thank you for your support in keeping Bamarang wonderful and affordable! Page 10 of 11
Terms & Conditions Bamarang Bush Retreat offers a continuous rate all year. No peak tariffs are applied. Bamarang Bush Retreat will not be held responsible for loss of booking where there is a breach of terms & conditions or in the event of natural disaster. Minimum Stay Policy 2 night minimum. 3 night minimum on a long weekend. Bookings Unless a deposit has been received, we reserve the right to reissue the booking to a third party. The required deposit will be sent to you and must be paid for confirmation. Balance of payment to be paid 21 days prior to check in date. Payments Cash or electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT bank details will be sent to you via email upon booking. IMPORTANT: INCLUDE NAME AND BOOKING DATE WITH EACH PAYMENT. Social Functions For social functions, the mudbrick houses will be charged from $1500 per night. The retreat is available for weddings packages including accommodation and both ceremony and reception venues at Bamarang. Due to the full retreat being occupied, and the intensive use of utilities and services, weddings start at $3500. All guests must abide by the Guest Responsibilities on page 8 or fees may apply. Pets Well-behaved pets are permitted however please kept pets off furniture, out of bedrooms and please clean up after your pet. A cleaning fee may be imposed. Cancellations Bamarang Bush Retreat caters for large groups and planned retreats. As a result, Bamarang is booked out well in advance and late cancellations are difficult to fill therefore all deposits are non-refundable.
