8 Transaction Policy (cont.) Sets out requirements for: Acquisitions Surplus property Disposals (including criteria for in-priority disposals) Leases Maximising use of strategic and long term holds
9 Transaction Policy (cont.) Acquisitions need to support service delivery needs or strategic purposes. All surplus assets are registered on the Government Land Register. All disposals submitted to GLAM for value uplift opportunities. Provides greater visibility of Government property transactions. All transactions represent best value for government.
10 MALPI Statutory Guideline 02/14
11 MALPI Statutory Guideline 02/14 Sets out the minimum requirements which must be followed by local government for making or amending a planning instrument (MALPI Statutory Guideline 02/12). Applies a long-standing existing generic statutory power for the Minister to direct a local government to amend its planning scheme for GLAM purposes through rezoning of surplus State Government land. Supports State government to dispose of land efficiently while removing the uncertainty that accompanies Government land being incorporated in specific and constrained land use zone.
