County Clerk Parisi called the roll: PRESENT: Anderson, Bigelow, D. Blaska, M. Blaska, Bruskewitz, Campbell, Clauder, Cornwell, Fyrst, Gawenda, Graf, Hamre, Hanneman, Heiliger, Hitzemann, Hulsey, Johnson, Kiley, Lowe, Matano, Mohrbacher, O'Loughlin, Olsen, Opitz, Powell, Ripp, Salkin, Salov, Schoer, Vedder, Wendt, Wilcox, and Kesterson. Supervisors Hendrick, McDonell, Olson, Rhyne, and Rutkowski arrived after roll call. EXCUSED: Wiganowsky. Supervisor Mohrbacher offered the inspirational message and led the Pledge of Allegiance. SPECIAL MATTERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS RES. 103, CONGRATULATING THE MIDDLETON HIGH SCHOOL ENVIROTHON TEAMS WHEREAS, the Middleton High School Envirothon "A" and "B" teams competed in the Wisconsin Land & Water Conservation Association Envirothon; and WHEREAS, the Envirothon is a competition to test students' knowledge of water resources, soils, forestry and wildlife, and, with this year's emphasis on wetlands, the teams gave oral presentations of a management plan for protection of a watershed comprised of wetlands, cropland with drained wetlands, urban land use, and land under development; and WHEREAS, Middleton High School took first and third place in team events at the state level competition, and also took individual first place in soils, wildlife and water resources; and WHEREAS, the Middleton team consisting of Beth Hellenbrand, Mike Noltner, Kris Wickman, Andrew Harrison, and Hans Hilbert, along with their advisor, Deb Weitzel, will be representing Wisconsin in the International Envirothon, July 31 through August 6, 2000, in Nova Scotia; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dane County Board of Supervisors hereby congratulates the Middleton High School Envirothon teams for their success in the Wisconsin competition; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a check of $150 be presented to the Middleton Envirothon team to be applied toward their expenses while representing Wisconsin at the international competition. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be presented to advisor Deb Weitzel and the Middleton High School Envirothon teams. Moved by Supervisor Wendt, seconded by Supervisor Opitz, to adopt Res Motion carried unanimously. AMDT Petition 7844 by Merlin Gasser to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural and A-3 Agriculture districts to the C-2 Commercial district on property located at 6497 USH 51 in part of the SW1/4 and SE1/4 of the NE1/4 and NE1/4 SE1/4 Section 32, Town of Windsor. AMDT Petition 7851 by Wendell and Linda Jones to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural district to the RH-1 Rural Homes district on property located south of 2626 Erbe Road in part of the SW1/4 NE1/4, NW1/4 SE1/4, and SW1/4 SE1/4 Section 16, Town of Blue Mounds. 3 PETITION ZONING CHANGE IN THE TOWN OF DUNN - ZONING ORD. AMDT Petition 7864 by Michael Slack and Thomas Moen to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural district to the R-1 Residential district on property located at 3148 and 3152 View Road in part of the NE1/4 NW1/4 Section 6, Town of Dunn. Moved by Supervisor Anderson, seconded by Supervisor Kesterson, to re-refer Petition 7864 to the Zoning & Natural Resources Committee. Motion carried. PETITION ZONING CHANGE IN THE TOWN OF BLUE MOUNDS - ZONING ORD. AMDT Petition 7866 by Wendell and Linda Jones to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural district to the RH-1 Rural Homes district on property located northeast of Brattlie Road in part of the NE1/4 NE1/4 Section 21, Town of Blue Mounds. The Zoning & Natural Resources Committee recommends that Petition 7866 be granted as modified and Zoning Ord. Amdt be adopted. Motion carried with Supervisors Hendrick, Hulsey, and Lowe voting no. PETITION ZONING CHANGE IN THE TOWN OF COTTAGE GROVE - ZONING ORD. AMDT Petition 7885 by Town of Cottage Grove to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural district to the C-2 Commercial district on property located at 4091 CTH N in part of the NE1/4 SW1/4 Section 16, Town of Cottage Grove. The Zoning & Natural Resources Committee recommends that Petition 7885 be granted as modified and includes the condition that the Deed Restriction below be recorded within 90 days, and Zoning Ord. Amdt be adopted. Motion carried. Deed Restriction: 1. The following uses shall not be permitted on the parcel; sales of new and used mobile homes, recreational equipment rental, sales and service (10.14(1)(d), truck and bus terminals (10.14(1)(i), auxiliary or supplemental electric generating stations (10.14(1)(j), fertilizer mixing or blending plants (10.14(1)(k), slaughterhouses, meat processing plants (10.14(1)(L), storage, repair and maintenance of carnival, concession and circus machinery and equipment (10.14(1)(o), automobile and truck driver training schools and construction equipment operator training schools that are privately owned and operated for profit (10.14(1)(p), games such as horseshoes, volleyball or similar activities not lighted for night operation (10.14(1)(t), adult book stores, subject to the standards set forth in s (10.14(1)(v). In addition uses 10.14(1)(b) major repairs to motor vehicles and 10.14(1)(h) bulk fuel storage, sales and storage of lumber and building material shall remain permitted uses provided that there shall be no storage in front of the principal building on the parcel. All conditional uses permitted shall require a conditional use permit, which shall be reviewed and approved or rejected in accordance with the process set forth by the ordinance. PETITION ZONING CHANGE IN THE TOWN OF DEERFIELD - ZONING ORD. AMDT Petition 7893 by Donald Larson to change the zoning from the A-1 EX Exclusive Agricultural district to the RH-1 Rural Homes district on property located west of 1110 CTH BB in part of the SE1/4 SE1/4 Section 8, Town of Deerfield. The Zoning & Natural Resources Committee recommends that Petition 7893 be granted and includes the condition that a certified survey map be recorded within 90 days, and Zoning Ord. Amdt be adopted. Motion carried with Supervisors Fyrst and Hulsey voting no. PETITION ZONING CHANGE IN THE TOWN OF DEERFIELD - ZONING ORD. AMDT Petition 7903 by Ronald and Anne Aplin to change the zoning from the RE-1 Recreational district to the RE-1 Recreational district (to amend deed restrictions to allow baseball diamonds, shelter, and parking lot with basketball courts) on property located across from 525 CTH BB in part of the NE1/4 SE1/4 and SE1/4 SE1/4, Section 10, and NW1/4 SW1/4 and SW1/4 SW1/4, District 11 - Town of Deerfield. The Zoning & Natural Resources Committee recommends that Petition 7903 be granted and includes the condition that the amended Deed Restriction below be recorded within 90 days, and Zoning Ord. Amdt be adopted. Motion carried. Deed Restriction: 1). That the use on the rezone areas is for non profit athletics only, that there be no lights, no alcohol beverages, no public address systems, and off road parking on designated parking lot only. 4 ORD. AMDT. 35, AMENDING CHAPTER 75 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, REGULATING SUBDIVISIONS NEAR AIRPORT Moved by Supervisor Lowe, seconded by Supervisor Gawenda, to substitute Sub. 1 to Ord. Amdt. 35 for Ord. Amdt. 35. Motion carried. SUB. 1 TO ORD. AMDT. 35, AMENDING CHAPTER 75 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, REGULATING SUBDIVISIONS NEAR AIRPORT The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: ARTICLE 1. Subsections (4m) and (4n) of s of the Dane County Code of Ordinances are created to read as follows: (4m) Airport affected areas. Where a proposed subdivision is located wholly or partly within an airport affected area as set forth in s , D.C. Ords., the committee shall require, as a condition of its approval, the following notation be placed on the plat or certified survey map which creates the subdivision: Lands covered by this [plat] [certified survey map] are located within an area subject to heightened noise levels emanating from the operation of aircraft and equipment from a nearby airport. (4n) Airport height limitation zones. Where a proposed subdivision is located wholly or partly within an area subject to height limitations, as set forth in s , D.C. Ords., the committee shall require, as a condition of its approval, the following notation be placed on the plat or certified survey map which creates the subdivision: Lands covered by this [plat] [certified survey map] are within an area subject to height limitations owing to the operation of aircraft and equipment from a nearby airport. Owners of lands within the area covered by this [plat] [certified survey map] are required by law to restrict the height of trees, other vegetation and man-made structures to less than the height limitations set forth in that certain map dated November 5, 1996, entitled Height Limitation Zoning Map, Dane County Regional Airport, Madison, Wisconsin, said map being on file in the Dane County Clerk s office. ARTICLE 2. NON-CODE PROVISION. The amendment(s) made by Article 1 shall first be applied to plats and certified survey maps pending but not yet approved as of the day after publication of this adopted amendment. Question before the Board was adoption of Ord. Amdt. 35. Motion carried. ORD. AMDT. 33, AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, ZONING FEES ADJUSTMENT The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: ARTICLE 1. Subsections (2), (3), (8) and (10) of s of the Dane County Code of Ordinances are amended to read as follows: (2) The fee for a petition to amend the zoning ordinance shall be $200. (3) The fee for an application for a conditional use permit shall be $250. (8) The fee for a petition to amend the zoning ordinance and for a conditional use permit filed jointly for the same parcel of land shall be $400. (10) The fee for an application for a special exception permit shall be $ ARTICLE 2. NON-CODE PROVISION. The amendment(s) made by Article 1 shall first take effect on the day after publication of this adopted amendment or June 1, 2000, whichever comes later. 5 RELATING TO MAJOR CONTRACTS Moved by Supervisor Mohrbacher, seconded by Supervisor Salov, to substitute Sub. 2 to Ord. Amdt. 7 for Ord. Amdt. 7. Motion carried. SUB. 2 TO ORD. AMDT. 7, AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO MAJOR CONTRACTS The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: ARTICLE 1. Section 25.20(2) of the Dane County Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows: (2)(a) In this subsection, the phrase the contract documents includes all of the following: the complete contract, including all schedules, exhibits and attachments; the contract rating sheet; the contract routing sheet; and an executive summary of the contract. (b) Prior to the time the contract is to be considered by the committee, the county clerk shall obtain from the head of the affected department the contract documents. The county clerk shall make copies of the contract documents available to the committee members five business days prior to the time the contract is to be considered by the committee. (c) Five business days prior to the time the contract is to be considered by the county board, the county clerk shall make copies of the contract documents available to the supervisors. (d) The executive summary shall describe any deviations from the standard contracting process and any changes to the standard county purchase of services form agreement. AWARD OF CONTRACTS RES. 83, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 2000 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO THE METROPOLITAN MILWAUKEE FAIR HOUSING COUNCIL (FAIR HOUSING PROGRAM OF GREATER MADISON) In 1999 Dane County received Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) urban county entitlement program. Upon receipt of this money, the County certified that they would affirmatively further fair housing. In order to determine the extent of the level of discrimination faced by the African-American and disabled populations, Dane County is proposing to contract with the Fair Housing Program of Greater Madison (an arm of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council) to conduct investigations into systemic forms of discrimination between these two populations. This information will help to guide Dane County in developing a fair housing program, which is required since the County is now a recipient of federal CDBG funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Fair Housing Program of Greater Madison/Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council be awarded a contract to provide systemic investigations for the above identified populations at a cost not to exceed $20,000; and BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Dane County Clerk and Dane County Executive are hereby authorized and directed to sign the appropriate contract in behalf of Dane County. RES. 87, AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR DANE COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER BUILDING Moved by Supervisor Hendrick, seconded by Supervisor McDonell, to substitute Sub. 2 to Res. 87 for Res. 87. Motion carried with Supervisor Salkin abstaining. SUB. 2 TO RES. 87, AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR DANE COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER BUILDING The Dane County Public Works Department reports the receipt of bids for construction of the Dane County Heritage Center Building, Bid #4069. A complete tabulation is on file in the Dane County Public Works Department. The low, qualified bidder is: Stevens Construction Corp Robertson Road Madison, WI Contract Amount: $725, This is the base bid amount. Alternate bids for additional features, in the total amount of $145,226.00, were submitted by the bidder but adequate funds are not now available to accept any of these. The Public Works staff finds the base bid amount to be reasonable and recommends the base bid proposal be accepted and the contract for that amount be awarded to Stevens Construction Corp. There are sufficient funds in the Budget to cover this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract be awarded to Stevens Construction Corp., and that the County Executive and the County Clerk be authorized and directed to sign the agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Department be directed to ensure complete performance of the contract; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Committee shall approve all change orders to the contract, subject to submission of change orders to the County Board for approval where the sum involves $5,000 or more than 10% of the original approved contract amount, whichever is smaller; and BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Public Works Committee, when requested by the parks director, is authorized to accept alternate bids for additional work, as submitted by the bidder, as funding becomes available from donations. RES. 92, AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR COLISEUM REFRIGERATION UPGRADE AT DANE COUNTY COLISEUM 110

Motion SUB. 1 TO RES. 92, AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR COLISEUM REFRIGERATION UPGRADE AT DANE COUNTY COLISEUM The Dane County Public Works Department reports the receipt of bids for Coliseum refrigeration upgrade at the Dane County Coliseum, Bid #4119. A complete tabulation is on file in the Dane County Public Works Department. The firm selected is: Joe Daniels Construction Co., Inc. 919 Applegate Road Madison, WI Contract Amount: $618, The Public Works staff finds the amount to be reasonable and recommends the proposal be accepted and the contract be awarded to Joe Daniels Construction Co., Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract be awarded to Joe Daniels Construction Co., Inc. and that the County Executive and the County Clerk be authorized and directed to sign the agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Department be directed to ensure complete performance of the contract; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Works Committee shall approve all change orders to the contract, subject to submission of change orders to the County Board for approval where the sum involves $5,000 or more than 10% of the original approved contract amount, whichever is smaller. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $245,000 be set up as additional Alliant Energy Center, Coliseum, Borrowing Proceeds and be credited to the General Fund-Reserve for Alliant Energy Center and that $245,000 be transferred from the General Fund-Reserve of Alliant Energy Center to the Alliant Energy Center, Coliseum, Chiller Replacement account. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alliant Energy Center, Coliseum, Chiller Replacement Project in the increased amount of $245,000 be authorized to begin July 27, 2000, in advance of the actual borrowing of this $245,000 for this project and that it is the intention of the County to reimburse itself the $245,000 expenditure with the proceeds from the 2000 Capital Projects Borrowing. Question before the Board was adoption of Sub. 1 to Res. 92. Motion carried unanimously. RES. 95, AWARD OF CONTRACT TO REROOF ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AT ALLIANT ENERGY CENTER OF DANE COUNTY The Dane County Public Works Department reports the receipt of bids for reroofing the administration building at the Alliant Energy Center of Dane County, Bid #4130. A complete tabulation is on file in the Dane County Public Works Department. The firm selected is: Hasheider Roofing & Siding, LTD E10412 CTH "O" Prairie du Sac, WI Contract Amount: $35, The Public Works staff finds the amount to be reasonable and recommends the proposal be accepted and the contract be awarded to Hasheider Roofing & Siding, LTD. There are sufficient funds in the budget for this project. Midtown Madison Corp. has proposed the exchange of land of equal size and value with Dane County to meet the stormwater management needs of this residential housing development. The County will be compensated for costs associated with restoring prairie on the County land that will be used for stormwater management. In addition, the County and the developer have agreed to split the costs of fencing the parkland from the development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dane County Board of Supervisors and the Dane County Executive hereby authorize the even exchange of approximately.42 acre of land owned by Dane County in the Town of Verona for approximately.42 acre of land owned by Midtown Madison Corp. in the City of Madison to meet the stormwater management needs of Stone Crest Estates. Motion RESOLUTIONS RES. 28, USE OF CONSERVATION FUND FOR TOWN PURCHASE OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS PROGRAMS The Zoning & Natural Resources Committee recommendation of adoption of Sub. 1 to Res. 28 was before the Board. SUB. 1 TO RES. 28, USE OF CONSERVATION FUND FOR PURCHASE OF CONSERVATION EASEMENTS Purchase of conservation easements is an approach to conserve natural resources and farmland by providing income to landowners and farmers from the sale of development rights. With a conservation easement, the right to develop one s property is purchased by a governmental unit or non-profit agency. The use of land, then, remains undeveloped. Availability of funding would likely prompt other local governments and non-profit organizations to establish conservation easement programs and practices, and extend their benefits throughout the county. An example of a conservation easement program that has been established by a local government is the Town of Dunn Purchase of Development Rights Program. In 1999, Dane County voters supported the establishment of a $30 million Conservation Fund for the purchase of land for open space. One element of this Conservation Fund is an allocation for local grant opportunities. Up to 10 percent of the Conservation Fund monies are made available for potential grants to cities, villages and towns, and up to another 10 percent to non-profit entities. Grants must be for projects identified in the current Parks and Open Space Plan ( ) or an amended plan. All grants require a match by the applicant of not less than 50 percent. Funding of conservation easements is not currently specified as a grant opportunity of the Conservation Fund. However, conservation easements meet some of the same conservation goals, even though the lands generally remain in private ownership as either permanent open space or in agricultural production, rather than becoming available for recreational use. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the purchase of conservation easements by towns, villages, cities and nonprofit organizations be an eligible component of the Conservation Fund Grant Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that qualifying conservation easement projects will be for lands described in the "Parks and Open Space Plan utilizing funds from the New Conservation Fund or the amended Parks and Open Space Plan with funds from the Old Conservation Fund, or in buffer areas immediately adjacent to properties currently owned or purchased pursuant to these plans. This in accordance with the Agreement Between Madison Area Builders Association, Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin, and Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk on Proposed Open Space Referendum signed January 15, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all grants provided to local governments or non-profit organizations for conservation easement purchases require a match by the applicant of not less than 50 percent. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the existing 11-member Conservation Fund Grant Selection Committee develop criteria for approval and review of conservation easement grant applications, with staff support from the Parks Department. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the committee s grant recommendations be presented to the Dane County Board and County Executive for final approval. Question before the Board was adoption of Sub. 1 to Res. 28. Motion carried. RES. 30, ACCEPTING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FUNDING FROM U. S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND THE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE The Planning and Development Department received a grant from the U. S. Department of Agriculture and from the Natural Resources Conservation Service that amounted to $82,500. County funding of $50,000 matched this grant. The purpose of the grant is to do a community demonstration project to show how the use of geographic information systems (GIS), mapping, and visualization, along with the use of the Internet, can help get information to decision-makers and citizens. Dane County is one of six areas in the nation that was selected for this grant. 113

10 This is a joint project with the Planning and Development Department, the Land Information Office, the U. W. Land Information and Computer Graphics Facility (LICGF) and ESRI (A GIS computer software company). The U. W. LICGF and Dane County have a memorandum of understanding the U. W. LICGF will do the work and bill Dane County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a revenue account be set up to accept the $82,500 from the federal government to the Planning and Development Department budget to the following accounts: Revenue Account GIS Development Acct. # $82,000 Expenditure Account GIS Development POS Acct. # $82,000 All unexpended funds at the end of 2000 will be carried forward to the year Zoning & Natural Resources and Personnel & Finance Committees recommend adoption of Res. 30. RES. 46, DIRECTING A STUDY OF POSSIBLE DISPERSAL OF ZONING ADMINISTRATION AND OTHER COUNTY FUNCTIONS There has been ongoing study and effort made to find sufficient space in the City-County Building or elsewhere to bring together the remaining land regulatory agencies of the County. These efforts have been frustrated by the lack of space in the building, as well as other factors. During the past decade, Dane County has successfully opened several precinct stations for the Dane County Sheriff s Department at various points in the County. These precinct stations have made it possible for the Sheriff s Department to provide more timely and effective service to the outlying parts of the County. Additionally, the County has for decades operated satellite offices of its Human Services Department, which have also succeeded in improving the access of the county government to persons in need of services. Recently, concern about traffic congestion in the City has lead to suggestions in the Vision 2020 land use and transportation plan that efforts should be made to encourage dispersal of commercial and other development throughout the County to avoid the need for people to make trips into Madison where not necessary. Consistent with that recommendation, it may be appropriate for the county to evaluate whether or not certain County functions could be located at the same dispersed locations throughout the county now used for Sheriff s Department and/or Human Services. Particularly, if it were possible to do so, it would be a major convenience to the public if zoning and building permits, as well as other zoning functions, could be dispersed throughout the County, minimizing the need people would have to drive to downtown Madison and contend with parking and traffic. Additionally, it would also be advisable to determine whether, through cooperation, it would be possible for a dispersed office to allow people to drop off for filing court documents for the Clerk of Circuit Court, land documents for the Register of Deeds, and tax payments or other payments for the Treasurer. These steps would facilitate making the County more user-friendly and would also relieve congestion in the courthouse and downtown Madison. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Administration, in conjunction with the Director of Planning and Development, study the possibility of locating dispersed zoning offices throughout the county, either in conjunction with or separate from existing County satellite offices; and that the Department of Administration consult with the Clerk of Circuit Court, the Treasurer, and the Register of Deeds to determine whether or not such dispersed offices could function as receiving points for documents being filed with the County. Moved by Supervisor Wendt, seconded by Supervisor O'Loughlin, to adopt Res. 46 with the following amendment: Change the final resolved clause to read as follows: "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Director of Planning and Development and Department of Administration study the possibility of locating dispersed zoning offices throughout the county, either in conjunction with or separate from existing satellite offices." Moved by Supervisor Gawenda, seconded by Supervisor Hulsey, to amend Supervisor Wendt's amendment by adding the following at the end of the resolved clause, after "offices": "and that this study include the feasibility of using computer kiosks to provide zoning services." RES. 55, ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE WISCONSIN OFFICE OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE TO COMBAT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN The Dane County Sheriff s Office has been authorized by the State Office of Justice Assistance to receive federal funds in the amount of $127,088 for the purpose of providing two additional detectives and cellular phone air time to address the domestic violence caseload between July 1, 2000, and June 30, This is a third year continuation of a project approved by the County Board in Under this grant, the Sheriff s Office will maintain a Domestic Violence Unit consisting of three detectives within the department. Two of these detectives salaries and fringe benefits will be reimbursed under the grant. The wages and benefits of the existing detective will be applied as a match to the federal funds. These detectives will be assigned exclusively to domestic violence cases. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Sheriff s Office be permitted to accept the Special Investigations of Domestic Violence grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $127,088 be set up as additional revenue in the Sheriff s Office, Field Services, Domestic Violence Grant account and credited to the General Fund. RES. 86, ACCEPTING TRAFFIC SAFETY FUNDS FOR AGGRESSIVE DRIVING PILOT 2000 SUMMER PROGRAM The Dane County Sheriff s Office has become eligible to receive transportation safety funds in the amount of $5,000 to be paid for overtime enforcement of traffic laws on USH 51 and on USH 12&18. The program, entitled Aggressive Driving Pilot 2000 Summer Program, is a collaboration of law enforcement agencies working together at the same time, in a specified area, to target aggressive driving and to bring about greater compliance with the motor vehicle laws in the State of Wisconsin. Along with enforcement, the goal is to reduce the number of deaths and injuries as a result of traffic crashes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dane County Sheriff s Office is hereby authorized to accept $5,000 from the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety, for the Aggressive Driving Pilot 2000 Summer Program.
