1 1.0 Introduction Datum Surveying Consultants has professional, technical resources, equipment, experience and training to undertake any type of Survey and Mapping project expediently. Since inception in 1995 Datum has established a strong reputation for technical expertise in the fields of surveying and computer based applications. Our modern survey office equipped with computer hardware and software supporting several CAD and GIS systems, amplifies our continuing commitment to technological development. Field data collection by Total Stations and GPS equipment is directly linked to the CAD facility for the production of digital databases. This highly efficient operation has again expanded beyond its original in house function. Our policy of providing clients a personal service has been rewarded by a wide and diverse client base with high-level repeat commissions. 2.0 Services The team of consultants has wide experience of over 30 years of providing the services to the public, private and corporate clientele. Using state of the art surveying equipment and technology, Datum has successfully executed medium to large projects in the following specialization: Cadastral surveys, Engineering surveys, Construction Surveys, Computer Aided Design, Urban Design & Planning, Land Tenure and Land Administration, Forensic Surveys and Land Dispute Resolution and Large scale mapping.

2 Cadastral surveys Cadastral survey deals with measurements of land, subdivisions and common leasehold tittles. This kind of survey can only be carried out by a Licensed Land Surveyor, registered pursuant to the Land Survey Act Cap188 of the laws of Zambia. Our licensed surveyors can offer a broad range of expertise in such matters as title searches, land acquisitions, property title interpretation, assist you to determine and define land ownership and boundaries. Cadastral surveys include: Plot demarcation subdivisions, common-lease surveys for block of flats, consolidation, rights-of-way and easements, mineral titles, surveys for Customary/Traditional Land, beacon location and boundary adjustment surveys, and expert witness for court cases involving land disputes Engineering Surveys Since inception Datum has provided engineering surveying services throughout Zambia for the purpose of engineering design, as a required in civil engineering practice, for planning and execution of nearly every form of construction. Topographical surveys and mapping Digital terrain modeling, structural deformation monitoring, settlement monitoring, GPS positioning, volumetric surveys mining surveys, photogrammetric control surveys, and environmental monitoring and well surveys. 2

3 Construction Surveys Datum offers complete land survey services for new housing and home renovation projects. All land surveys required by municipal authorities for residential development are provided, including Topographic surveys, Setting out of building and excavation layout, Boundary line surveys. Access roads and utilities surveys, highway construction surveys, pipeline construction surveys, railway construction surveys, and mine construction surveys. Land Tenure and Land Administration Datum has earned a reputation for their expertise and effectiveness in land issues. Since the enactment of Land Act 1995, Datum has been providing advisory services to small scale farmers on secure land rights.
