Well, we re seeing increasing signs of a lasting recovery in the housing market, so there s plenty happening. It s taken a little while, but Gloucester Docks is getting its buzz back! The Gloucester Quays Outlet is at the heart of things, and really starting to hold its own against the region s other big outlets. We re seeing a very welcome influx of new bars and restaurants that are helping breathe new life into the city too. So it's certainly a great time to move to Gloucester! 4 The inside view on the market We all know the housing market has been in the doldrums, and over the last few years, we ve seen the confidence of buyers, sellers and lenders plummet. Hardly surprising after five or six years in recession. (I don t think any of us expected it to last quite so long.) But there s good news... Throughout the country and certainly here in Gloucester things are looking up. We re not quite back to the boom years yet, but confidence is growing and lenders are lending again. Always a good sign. Encouragement for buyers and sellers House prices are moving in the right direction. So that s encouraging news if you re looking to get your house on the market in the next few months. You can certainly expect to see a higher valuation of your property now than you would have had two or three years ago. There s good news for buyers too. We re seeing a much greater availability of property now than we ve seen for some considerable time. New properties are coming on to the market and being sold quickly.
