MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION August 14, 2013 The Planning Commission of the Parish of Ascension held a Public Meeting on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Courthouse East Meeting Room, Gonzales, Louisiana in a regular session convened. I. Meeting Called to Order Meeting was called to order by Chairman Donald Songy. II. Roll Call of Members The following members were present: Gasper Chifici, Robert Burgess, Morrie Bishop, Donald Songy, Paul Nizzo, Joshua Ory, Jackie Callender The following members were absent: None III. Pledge of Allegiance IV. Approval or Denial of the Minutes of the July 10, 2013 Planning Commission Meeting Commission Action: Moved by Mr. Jackie Callender, seconded by Mr. Morrie Bishop and unanimously adopted, to accept the July 10, 2013 Planning Commission minutes as presented. VII. Consent Agenda A) Affidavit of Mortgage Declaration 1) Manchac Acres Subd Lots 16-A-1-B-2 and 16-A-1-A-B (Simple Division)

No one was present. Commission Action: Moved by Mr. Robert Burgess, seconded by Mr. Morrie Bishop and unanimously adopted, to approve the consent agenda items. VIII. Public Hearing to Approve or Deny the Following Family Partitions: A) Edgar Gillis, Jr. Los 3-B-3-A-1, 3-B-3-B-1, 3-B-3-B-2 The Subject property is located on the west side of Tootsie Road approximately seven hundred and sixty seven (767) feet north of Kid Bourgeois Road in Council District 6 and zoned Rural (R). The application is on behalf of Edgar Gillis, Jr. by Earles & Associates, LLC. The owner is proposing a Family Partition of Lots 3-B-3-A and 3-B-3-B into Lots 3-B-3-A-1 (.057 acres), 3-B-3-B-2 (.50 acres) and 3-B-3-B-1 (.5 acres). The applicant will be retaining Lots 3-B-3-A-1 and 3-B-3-B-2, and dedicating Lot 3- B-3-B-1 to his daughter Cally Gillis. Lot 3-B-3-A-1 will be accessed by Tootsie Road, and Lots 3-B-3-B-2 and 3-B-3-B-1 will be accessed by an existing 40 (proposed 30 ), private servitude of passage. STAFF REVIEW COMMENTS All comments addressed. STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS Staff recommends approval. Mr. James Falgout with Earles and Associates, LLC presented this family partition. Public hearing was opened. No comments. Public hearing was closed. Commission Action: Moved by Mr. Morrie Bishop, seconded by Mr. Joshua Ory and unanimously adopted, to approve this family partition as presented.

Diez, Sr. Lots VD-1-A and VD-1-B The Subject property is located on the north side of Church Point Road approximately one thousand four hundred and thirty nine (1,439) feet west of Denham Road in Council District 9 and zoned Rural (R). The application is on behalf of Vincent D. Diez, Sr. by B.M. Aguillard & Associates, LLC. The owner is proposing a Family Partition of Lot VD-1 into Lots VD-1-A ( acres) and VD-1-B (4.069 acres). The applicant will be retaining Lot VD-1-A and dedicating Lot VD-1-B to his son Vince Diez, Jr. Lot VD-1-B will be accessed by Church Point Road, and Lot VD-1-A will be accessed by a proposed 30 private servitude of passage. STAFF REVIEW COMMENTS All comments addressed STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS Staff recommends approval. Mr. Brian Aguillard with B.M. Aguillard & Associates, LLC presented this family partition. Public hearing was opened. Ms. Renee Withers spoke. Public hearing was closed. Commission Action: Moved by Mr. Gasper Chifici, seconded by Mr. Robert Burgess and unanimously adopted, to approve this family partition as presented. IX. Public Hearing to Recommend Approval or Denial to the Parish Council Revisions to the Ascension Parish Unified Land Development Code: A) Ordinance DC13-9: Revisions to Development Code, Zoning Tables and Subdivision Regulations of the Unified Land Development Code pertaining to Design Regulations for Major Subdivisions Mr. Ricky Compton presented and explained the revisions to ordinance. Commission Action: Moved by Mr. Paul Nizzo, seconded by Mr. Robert Burgess and unanimously adopted, to place this proposed ordinance revision on the next regularly scheduled Planning Commission agenda as a public hearing, with changes made by Mr. Ricky Compton at this meeting, as the Commission feels they need more time to study what has been presented tonight. X. Staff Report No staff report. XI. Engineering Staff Report Mr. Tim Ward, Engineer, gave the following report status on subdivisions: XII. Adjourn Residential - 7 subdivisions are in their bond period (560 Lots) - 4 subdivisions are under construction (186 Lots) - 4 subdivisions are approved for construction but haven t started construction (240 Lots) - 2 subdivisions are in construction review (114 Lots) Total of 1,100 Lots Moved by Mr. Morrie Bishop, seconded by Paul Nizzo and unanimously adopted, meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m. Donald A.
