2 Capacity, Official nrollment, Live ttend Counts, and Building Utilizations The following are school capacity statistics for review. These statistics will be utilized to compare and assess school boundary options. The table on this page details the state rated capacity (number of students each building can hold for each building, as well as enrollment and live attend counts. The enrollment column shows the number of study area students enrolled in each building as of September 30, The State of aryland defines the State ated Capacity (SC as the number of students that the Interagency Committee on School Construction (IC or its designee determines that an individual school has the physical capacity to enroll and can be reasonably accommodated in a facility. The K-5 column reflects the number of K-5 grade (BCPS students that live and attend within each of the elementary school attendance boundaries participating in the boundary change study. The Live Out and column shows those K-5 th graders that live outside of their zoned school s attendance boundary but attend that school. Utilization is a term that defines how much of a school building is being used. Utilization is the enrollment divided by the state rated capacity (SC, described as a percentage. The PS/PK-5 Grade nrollment Over/Under Capacity column shows the number of FT PS/PK-5 students over the state rated capacity for each building. Full Time quivalent (FT enrollment counts 100% of students in Grades kindergarten through 5, but only 50% of students in prekindergarten and preschool because they are half-day programs and two sessions can use one classroom (one in the and the other in the P. ue to only counting 50% of the prekindergarten and preschool students, differences between the individual schools and the study area FT total may occur. The total utilization for the two schools is 102%. Providing capacity relief and balancing enrollment among these schools will involve a change in attendance areas and program moves. The movement of some special education programs from Featherbed Lane lementary School would reduce enrollment and provide additional capacity at the school. The Office of Special ducation is estimating 15 fewer students will attend Featherbed Lane lementary. In addition, the State ated Capacity will increase from 654 to 667 reflecting the conversion of special education classrooms to standard elementary classrooms. ith these changes, Featherbed Lane would have a utilization of 88.5%, and the total utilization for both schools would be 99.7% (See table Post Program oves below. The impact of these programs moves will be used for the FT Options. 1 evised: 03/19/2019
