According to the Hunter Boa Family History his birth occured on March 11, In 1841 he was a shepherd at Bodisbek Farm, near Moffat, and then moved to Capplegill, where he worked for 56 years. Adam was found in the 1881 census as living at Moffat, Dumfries, Scotland at Capplegill Cottage; he was the head of his household; he was a shepard. Adam's wife was not listed in the 1881 census, possibly she died previous to One of Adam's daughters, Elizabeth was living with him at Capplegill Cottage, her occupation was given as tablemaid (Dom), which I assume is meaning domestic. Adam was 87 years of age when he died. In the 1851census of Scotland, Elizabeth (as given above) was recorded as the daughter of Adeline (daughter of Adam) which conflicts with the 1881 census.
