12 10 AFL Architects Multi-Sports Elite Training Facility Doha, Qatar The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) invited AFL to provide design ideas for a major Sports Training Complex in Qatar to provide much needed facilities for thirteen of the Qatar Sports Federations including: Martial arts; Gymnastics, Bowling; Billiards, Snooker & Chess. The site also provides hotel accommodation, a mosque and a link to the proposed metro station.

15 AFL Architects 13 Rio 2016 Olympic Park - Brazil AFL Architects in collaboration with BDP have designed this submission for the Olympic Park master plan competition for one of Rio de Janeiro s main sites for the 2016 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The use of layered access routes and a central pedestrian Park create a car free environment for the public while allowing excellent vehicle and accredited access to the back of house areas. The whole site has been designed with legacy use as a thriving residential, business and sports district central to the whole scheme making maximum use of the extensive lakeside water front. 16 14 AFL Architects Qatar Stadium & Master Plan Bid AFL were invited to bid for a 45,000 seat FIFA World Cup stadium and precinct. Our approach was to have a master plan lead design allowing for incremental growth towards a final legacy. The World Cup event would form part of the journey of this site meaning that the future of the whole area was assured from the outset. The stadium seating would be flexible allowing for reduction in capacity or complete removal after the event. The roof would be designed so it could form a permenant covered multipurpose plaza and arena - a cultural palace for the people.

A key part of a series of new master planned districts that will shape the future of this Chinese city. The design centres around a stunning new park connecting to the wider landscape. The facilities include a new Olympic indoor arena and 50,000 seat athletics stadium capable of hosting international class sporting events, a sports university with indoor competition and training venues, a 5 star hotel and a new retail mall integrated into the sport facilities that ensure year round activity and commercial value.
