Work in progress City Memories: Marking Time in the Literature of New York City. This book focuses on writing about New York City to rethink modernism s association of urban culture with the new. It uses twentieth-century representations of the city s built environment to understand narrative experiments that represent alternatives to forward-moving time in the city. Two chapters have appeared in article form in major journals. Of the remaining chapters, one has been presented as invited lectures; portions of all three remaining chapters have been presented as conference papers. Of these, one chapter is complete, another is half drafted and a third remains to be drafted. I have preliminary interest from two presses. Estimated completion date Impressionism and Post-Impressionism has been solicited for The Oxford Handbook of Virginia Woolf, edited by Anne Fernald, a volume which is under contract. The chapter has been drafted and awaits editorial feedback. Review of Writing for the New Yorker: Critical Essays on an American Periodical. Ed. Fiona Green. Solicited by the Journal of Modern Periodical Studies.
