Your dedication to these training opportunities is certainly an indication of your commitment to excellence and to your personal and professional development is an exciting year for the Technology Transfer Center, we celebrate our 25 th anniversary of service to local agencies in Connecticut and we honor our 500 th Road Master graduate. In 1983, the President of the University of Connecticut, John DiBiaggio, said about the Technology Transfer Center I can think of few programs that better typify the public service commitment of the University of Connecticut than our effort to assist local transportation agencies through our Technology Transfer Center. Twenty five years later we are even more committed to providing the highest level of quality training and technical assistance to the towns in Connecticut. We are most grateful for the support of the Federal Highway Administration, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and the municipal agencies in Connecticut. 32 Training Programs The CT Technology Transfer Center presents workshops to Connecticut's local government personnel on a wide variety of topics related to planning, design, maintenance, and operation of the local transportation system. The graduates listed in the 2008 Technology Transfer Center s Graduate Directory have completed one of the following three training programs: Connecticut Road Master Program The Connecticut Road Master Program is a training program for Connecticut's Municipal Road Maintenance Supervisors and those preparing for Road Maintenance Supervisory Positions. Participants in the program will complete a series of workshops designed to provide Connecticut's municipal highway personnel with knowledge of the fundamentals of modern road maintenance management procedures and techniques. The Road Master program consists of seven required workshops and two electives. Road Scholar Program The Road Scholar program is an advanced certificate program designed for those individuals who have graduated from the CT Road Master Program. This 6-course program is geared toward higher level public works officials and offers courses on both personnel and road management issues. The Road Scholar program consists of four required workshops and two electives. The Connecticut Municipal Legal Traffic Authority Program Connecticut Legal Traffic Authorities are municipal officials designated by the municipalities to establish traffic regulations and authorize the installation of traffic control devices. The Connecticut Legal Traffic Authority Program provides an opportunity for those individuals to receive specialized training. The LTA program consists of four required workshops.

Equipment Loan Programs: Traffic Counters Vehicle Speed Recording Equipment A Public Works Listserv designed to enable and encourage the public works community to share new ideas, address issues and learn about the latest in materials, methods and practices. The Connecticut Creative Solutions Award Program designed to recognize initiative and innovative thinking of public agency transportation staff, identify and help distribute ideas created in the field, and promote continued improvement. The Dr. Jack Stephens Memorial Safety Challenge held each year during the Technology Transfer Expo to highlight the skills of local transportation agency staff.
