A lifelong resident of East Palmyra, Mr. O'Meal was a 48-year member of East Palmyra Presbyterian Church, a 48-year member Of Marion Masonic Lodge No. 926 F&AM. Mr. O'Meal was in business for 44 years here as a farm equipment dealer. He was an honorary member of the New York Farm Equipment Dealers Association, Inc. and of the Wayne Farm Equipment Association. He was a former member of the East Palmyra School Board and served as a councilman for the Town of Palmyra. He also was a member of the East Pal myra Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Sophie DeWind O'Meal; three brothers Edward of Newark. Jacob of Wa terloo and Albert of East Pal myra; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza beth Faas of Rochester and Mrs. Doris Goosen of East Palmyra; a step-son, Lyman Kaller, of East Palmyra; and four step-grand-children. Services were held Tuesday, with burial in East Palmyra Cemetery. 6 Mr. O'Meal was born on November 1, 1901, in Marion, the son of Jacob and Katie (Bliek) O'Meal. He was a farmer for many years and was also a professional thresher in the East Palmyra area. He was a member of Marion F&AM Lodge 926 and had received his 50-year pin in He was a member of the first Presbyterian Church of Waterloo. Friends called at the Bennett Funeral Home in Waterloo. Funeral serves were held at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Jonathan T. Carlisle officiating. Internment is in the East Palmyra cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mabel B.; one son, Russell R. O'Meal of Walworth; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fass of buffalo and Mrs. Doris Goossen of East Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews.
