I express my sincere anks to e office bearers of IABP for giving me an opportunity to host is conference and for agreeing upon to organize e most challenging scientific event. Such a herculean task would not have been possible wiout e voyage travelled togeer by e organizing committee members and faculty from India, who has travelled far distance for eir participation & young students and researchers. The conference program has been planned to deliver e most recent advancement in Biological Psychiatry by eminent scientists across e country. Keeping is in view, e plenary lectures is planned featuring interesting scientific sessions related to day-to-day clinical practice & many more. 7 ANCIABP Scientific Information Plenary Lectures Duration of Plenary lectures will be of 60 mins to highlight specic topics, featured during morning and afternoon session on each day of e conference. These speakers are chosen in recognition of eir exceptional achievements in basic or clinical research. Their lectures will include material of interest to bo basic and clinical scientists as well as to a broad clinical audience. Asha Award Rules The Asha Award was instituted out of an endowment received from Asha Hospital for a young member. The paper must be presented by a member not over 40 years of age on 30 August of e year in which he is submitting his entry. If at conference is not held in at year, e date of reckoning e age shall remain e same. None of e auors or co-auors will be over 40 years of age on e specified day mentioned above. The contestants must enclose wi eir papers, eir certificates of age as recorded in e school leaving certificate or equivalent records. For any paper to be considered for e award, it shall be necessary for e auor to submit four copies of e full paper to Dr. E. Mohandas Chairperson, Awards Committee, by a date determined by e council of e IABP sake of uniformity of style e paper shall be prepared in accordance wi e "Instructions to contributors" published in any standard indexed journal (For e.g. The Indian Journal of Psychiatry). Six copies of e abstract of e paper (not more an 200 words) in six separate sheets shall be enclosed wi e paper. To be eligible for e award, e paper must fulfill each of e following criteria: a) It must be a research paper based on work done in India. It must not have been published in a scientific journal nor have been awarded any award of e National recognition. b) There should be a letter by e presenters and all auors certifying e auenticity of work c) The principal auor and at least 50% of all auors must be members of e IABP at e time of e submission of e paper. A panel of judges shall rate e papers. Out of e full marks i.e. 100, 60% will be for preparation and compilation of e paper and 40% for its presentation at e conference. The paper securing highest total marks (out of 100) shall win e award subject to ratification by e awards committee and e executive council of e society. In case of a tie, e concerned papers will be

8 ANCIABP declared joint winners. To win an award not less an 50% of e full marks must be obtained by a paper. To be eligible for presentation, e written version of e paper must secure at least 40% of e full marks allotted for e written version i.e. 24 out of 60. d) Only e four qualified will be presented to oral presentation. The paper will be e property of Indian Association of Biological Psychiatry. The top scoring paper or papers will be awarded. All auors of e award winning paper shall be considered to have won e award and will be issued certificates and will be eligible for e award money. The money will be handed over to e principal auor for distribution among e co-auors. None of e judges appointed for is award, shall be contestants for is award.
