1 CITY OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL REPORT MARCH 7,2017 AGENDA ITEM Subject: Type: Submitted By: 1 AND 6 YEAR STREET IMPROVEMENT PLAN RESOLUTION ORDINANCE RECEIVE/FILE JOE SOUCIE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS SYNOPSIS A public hearing has been scheduled and a resolution prepared to approve the 1 and 6 Year Street Improvement Plan for highway, road and street improvements for the City of La Vista. FISCAL IMPACT The 1 and 6 Year Plan establishes prioritization and cost estimates for street improvements. Funding for the projects in the 1 and 6 Year plan are now requested in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Both the 1 & 6 Year Plan and CIP are living documents that will possibly change as unforeseen issues or opportunities arise. RECOMMENDATION Approval BACKGROUND A copy of the proposed 1 and 6 Year Plan is attached. On February 16,2017, the Planning Commission reviewed the Plan and recommended approval to the City Council. A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF, NEBRASKA, APPROVING THE ONE-AND-SIX-YEAR PLAN FOR HIGHWAY, ROAD AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CITY OF AS SUBMITTED BY THE CITY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR. WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has revised and updated the City of La Vista One-and- Six-Year Street Plan; and the La Vista Planning Commission has reviewed the One-and-Six-Year Street Plan for the City of La Vista and recommends to Council approval of the Plan; and the Mayor and City Council of the City of La Vista, Nebraska held a public hearing on the City of La Vista's One-and-Six-Year Plan for highway, road and street improvements for the City of La Vista as submitted by the City Public Works Director; and the citizens of the City of La Vista have therefore had an opportunity to comment on the One-and-Six-Year Plan for highway, road and street improvements for the City of La Vista as submitted and reviewed by the La Vista City Council; and projects in the One-and-Six-Year Street Plan have been incorporated into the City of La Vista's Capital Improvement Plan. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of La Vista, Nebraska that the One-and-Six-Year Plan for highway, road and street improvements for the City of La Vista as submitted by the City Public Works Director and reviewed by the Mayor and City Council of the City of La Vista be, and the same hereby is, accepted and approved.
