H ADDON@A L UMNI.UBC.CA EDUCATION Present PhD Student, Sociology University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada MA First Class Honours, Sociology University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Thesis title: Class identification in New Zealand: an analysis of the relationship between class position and subjective social location. Supervisor: Dr. Bruce Curtis,, University of Auckland. I drew on Marxist and Weberian scholarship to examine the relationship between objective class position and subjective class placement in New Zealand. Using data collected by two New Zealand surveys in 1999 and 2009, I explored the connection between the objective social class positions of individuals and their own subjective perceptions of these circumstances. The evidence produced through correlation and regression analyses suggests that class continues to generate subjectively salient identities, leading one to deduce that there are no grounds for stating that it is no longer a significant feature in society BA (Hons), Sociology University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand BA Sociology and Anthropology, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada Diploma, Commerce and Business Administration, Douglas College, New Westminster, Canada TEACHING EXPERIENCE Present Teaching Assistant,, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
