WHY IDEAS? CALL 4 AWARDS NOMINATIONS Ideas 4 Automation is the opportunity to present shortly a schematic representation of new possible application in the Industrial Automation.

2 WHY IDEAS? CALL 4 AWARDS NOMINATIONS Ideas 4 Automation is the opportunity to present shortly a schematic representation of new possible application in the Industrial Automation. The Award will allow the winner to develop their own Ideas and the support of AIS ISA Italy Section for the disclosure of the same. We are delighted to announce the launch of the third edition of the Ideas 4 Automation Award to be celebrated at the upcoming event Automation for Instrumentation Summit, that will be held on 19th- 20th June 2019 at Castello di Belgioioso, Italy. 3

PARTECIPATION THEMES AND TOPICS THE SUBMISSION TO THE COMPETITION NEEDS: The participation to the award is open to students of high school, undergraduates of any degree and Ph.

It is also possible to make a presentation about Topics not limited to the themes listed, and in any case focalized on the concept of Automation or Instrumentations.

3 PARTECIPATION THEMES AND TOPICS THE SUBMISSION TO THE COMPETITION NEEDS: The participation to the award is open to students of high school, undergraduates of any degree and Ph.D students who are interested or study any of themes of the Automation Instrumentation summit It is also possible to make a presentation about Topics not limited to the themes listed, and in any case focalized on the concept of Automation or Instrumentations. Students won t be asked to realize their Ideas, but just how an Idea could be eventually realized. Your idea is not restricted to specific topic, but we suggest the themes of the AIS summit: THEME 1 Advances in control systems THEME 2 The Industrial Internet of Things, 4.0, cybersecurity THEME 3 Instrumentation & analyser technology evolution THEME 4 Telecommunication system All the material prepared shall be in English language. A. The attached form filled with the personal information, contract and details on the school/university. B. A brief (max. 4 pages and max words) but detailed written description of the Idea 4 Automation highlighting the following points: 1. Recall the main THEME of your Idea 2. Details of the Idea 3. Explain the main steps for its realization 4. The condition for the success 5. The support needed (not economic) for the realization of the Idea (which knowledge and position is required for the realization). 6. Which are the main effect of the idea (advantages, changes in social behaviors etc) C. As an alternative to the written description, a brief video (max 3 minutes) where the candidates explain the Idea, and a bulleted list with the main features of the work as listed in Point B. The Video shall be structured as the written presentation. 4 5

AWARDS The Awards will be given in recognition of the 3 best Ideas for Automation: FIRST PLACE Money prize of 3000 + subscription SECOND PLACE Money prize of 2000 + subscription THIRD PLACE Money

4 AWARDS The Awards will be given in recognition of the 3 best Ideas for Automation: FIRST PLACE Money prize of subscription SECOND PLACE Money prize of subscription THIRD PLACE Money prize of subscription Fourth to Tenth place: subscription to the AIS-ISA events 2019 Awards for High schools: In the 2019 I4A edition, AIS-ISA-Italy will award a prize to high schools. The high schools will receive 1000 for each of their students that will be in the first four students of high school ranking. The ceremony will take place at the 19th-20th June 2019 meeting. The presented Ideas will be judged by the scientific committee of the AIS conference. A first selection among all the participating Ideas will be done before the conference. All the students are invited to attend the conference. The three finalist will have to present their ideas at the Ideas 4 Automation Award ceremony that will take place the 20th June 2019 during the AIS conference. The final ranking will be defining during the I4A ceremony. The prizes will be given only to students or High schools delegate who attend the ceremony. 6
