2 1. Apologies for Absence Apologies from 137 members were received. 2. Adoption of Minutes of the First Quarterly General Meeting held on 31 March 2010 (App A) There being no comments, the minutes of the First Quarterly General Meeting held on 31 March 2010 were proposed for adoption by HO Kin Wai Stephen and seconded by WAI Chui Chi Rosman. The minutes were confirmed as a true record. 3. Matters Arising from Minutes of First Quarterly General Meeting held on 31 March 2010 There were no matters arising from the First General Meeting held on 31 March Report from the Honorary Secretary (AppB) The Honorary Secretary updated members on the recent developments in the 6 Boards in the second quarter of 2010 with a power-point presentation covering details of 2010 Mainland & Hong Kong Construction Industry Forum, proposed Overseas Excursion to Turkey and Vietnam, HKIA Annual Ball 2010, preparation for setting up of Architectural Firms in Guangdong, participation in Venice Biennale 2010, etc. Members were encouraged to read the details from the full report which was uploaded onto the front page of on 18 June Report from the President (AppC) The President welcomed Ms Annie TAM, JP, Director of Lands as the guest speaker for the Second QGM. The President Report covered the highlights of key issues in the second quarter of 2010, which was uploaded onto on 23 August Members were encouraged to read the details from the above link. 6. A Speech by Ms. Annie TAM, JP, Director of Lands, HKSAR Vice President, KS Wong introduced Ms. Annie TAM as the speaker of the Second QGM. The topic of her speech was To Supply Land for Private Development. Ms. Tam introduced the land administration system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. She also explained the processing of building plans, landscaping proposal and application for Certificate of Compliance arose from Land Sale/ Land Grant/ Lease Modification/ Land Exchange and Consent. Vice President KS Wong offered a vote of thanks to Ms. Tam for her informative speech. Members were encouraged to read the details from the powerpoint which was uploaded onto the front page of on 25 June Report by the Honorable Patrick LAU, SBS, JP, Legco Member for Functional Constituency Architectural, Surveying and Planning (App D) The Honorable Patrick LAU, SBS, JP sent his apology of absence owing to his commitment to attend the constitutional reform meeting at the LegCo. Members were invited to read the details of report, which was uploaded onto the front page of on 22 June Presentation of Certificates to Corporate Member Apology of absence was received from ADO Design & Public Art Consultants (HK) Limited and Global Atelier Limited. 9. Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to HKIA Nominees serving in External Committees President presented a Certificate of Appreciation to AU YEUNG Chi King Artur in recognition of his contribution at the Construction Workers Review Committee and Construction Industry Health and Safety Committee. Vice President WONG Kam Sing presented a Certificate of Appreciation to President Anna kwong in recognition of her contribution at the Building Safety Loan Scheme Vetting Committee. 14. Any Other Business There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:55 pm. 15. Date of the Third Quarterly General Meeting in 2010 The Third Quarterly General Meeting would be held on Thursday, 16 September 2010 at 1:00pm on 19th Floor, One Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong..
