1 Subsection 4 The 'Mystery' Stockdens First found in Year: Name: Details: 1: 1917 Rosa Flora Jane Married, in 1917, to Garnet Lewis, son of William Day Lewis. Born in Cheddar, Somerset, he had emigrated at some time unknown, to Canada, and joined the army there. Garnet was with the Canadian Engineering Training Depot stationed at Crowborough. in Sussex Rosa was the daughter of William Henry STOCKDEN, her age unknown at the time of her marriage. n.f.i. probably 35 yrs. 2: 1917 William Henry Father of Rosa Flora Jane STOCKDEN. n.f.i James James died 20 October 1910 aged about 54 years. He was a farm labourer. I have no records of a 'James STOCKDEN' born around n.f.i. 4: 1883 Jane Jane, then aged 47 years, married a sailor, Samuel Brooks, in Cardiff on 22 February She was the daughter of George Brayley STOCKDEN. n.f.i. 5: 1883 George Brayley Father of Jane (1836). n.f.i. 6: 1883 Henry Father of an unnamed female daughter born to Louisa (1842) Stockden (m William Holley in 1867 n.f.i.) Henry was a letter carrier in Bath. n.f.i. 7: 1881 Frederyck (STOKDEN) (sic). Was an errand boy in Bath at the time of the 1881 census. Age given as 17 years, suggesting birth year of Born at Twerton, Bath. n.f.i. 8: 1880 Clement Father of Jane (1880) Stockden, wife of Caroline (née Hall). Probably error for name of 'STOCKTON'. Caroline took her family to Worcester by 1881 census where they were noted as 'Stockton'. n.f.i. 9: 1833 Ann Married Samuel Stickler 14 Jul 1833 at Iron Acton no parents named.
