2 RIBA MEAP access course UAE RIBA MEAP access course The RIBA MEAP access course offers: two intensive seminar days office briefing via video conferencing (on request) tutorials (on request) What are the benefits of doing the MEAP access course? It will give you an in-depth education in professionalism, clients, users and delivery of services, legal framework and processes, practice and management and building procurement. Having passed the MEAP access course, you will be eligible to apply for Chartered Membership via the Membership Eligibility Assessment Panel. As a Chartered Member you will have access to online resources via a dedicated website. As a special offer you will also receive Affiliate Membership 1 (from 1st Janauary 2019 until 31st December 2019) 1 subject to eligibility and approval by Membership Admissions Committee The benefits of Affiliate Membership include: be part of 40,000 strong worldwide community who are passionate about architecture free RIBA Journal and online access to over 2,500 articles on RIBAJ.com free use of the RIBA Members Information Centre a personal phone or information support service access to members only area of informative RIBA bulletins and newsletters tips, advice and exclusive downloads via the online RIBA CPD section Affiliate Membership will continue until you have passed the MEAP access course and you have been elected to Chartered Membership. If you are not elected to Chartered Membership before 31/12/2019 you will be contacted by RIBA membership to be asked if you would like to renew you Affiliate Membership for 2020, which will be subject to an annual subscription fee. Who can join The MEAP access course has been developed for architects and graduates based overseas. Am I eligible to register for the MEAP access course? Provided you have passed a course in architecture of at least 5 years and are currently working in architecture you are eligible to register for the MEAP access course. When will I be ready to take the examination? You will require at least 2 years of recorded practical training experience, primarily in an architect s office. The fee for the Course (including assessment 2 ) is as follows: Course Fee AED VAT (AED ) 3 2 this is for coursework assessment and not for the MEAP portfolio review 3 there is an option to pay in 5 instalments; to discuss please contact meapaccess@riba.org How to apply Please complete the attached application form in block capitals and return it to the RIBA with the appropriate documentation. This includes the course fee payment method form (page 4) and a scanned copy of the photo page of your passport or national ID card. Your application will be reviewed by the Director RIBA Part 3 within two weeks of being received. New candidates will then receive a confirmation letter of admission onto the course. Your name will be put forward for election to Affiliate Membership by the membership admissions committee within 4 weeks of your application being received.
