We are delighted to be part of the team refurbishing a 16,000ft 2 Grade II Listed building situated on Grosvenor Street. The building will become the new London headquarters for Qatari Diar Development Company (QDDC). Continuing our relationship with The Berkeley Group, we have been appointed to design the engineering services for Stephenson Street in West Ham. The project comprises 4,000 new homes centred around a 4.5 acre linear park, new secondary school and 50,000ft 2 of commercial and community uses. Another appointment by Brockton Capital to design a new build office scheme in Shoreditch known as Project Barley. This will provide 65,000ft 2 of high density co-working space and 1,100ft 2 of retail space.

2 awards At the BCO Awards lunch at The London Hilton Hotel, we had great pleasure in celebrating with two of our highly valued clients; U+I for 7a Howick Place and The Post Office for Finsbury Dials. REFURBISHED / RECYCLED WORKPLACE 7a Howick Place This project consisted of the conversion of the existing building into the office of U+I, the new development company formed by the merging of Cathedral Group and Development Securities. The building has been enriched by the introduction of a floating boardroom, ramp for architectural promenade and central stair, composed to bring light and add a contemporary feel to the space. This fit out for The Post Office comprised a new 55,000ft 2 facility at Finsbury Dials in the heart of London s City. The objective was to initiate a cultural change by creating a new state-of-the-art Customer Support Centre with flexible client & visitor spaces. The delivery team worked closely with the client and design team to provide the Post Office with a facility that was a place that inspires activity and new ways of doing business. 3 awards Dukelease at the double! After six years of hard work, we are thrilled for Dukelease Properties that 61 Oxford Street has won the RIBA London 2016 Regional Award. Located on Oxford Street, the project comprises 75,000ft 2 of mixed use development incorporating retail, office and duplex residential apartments. Dukelease also had success when Hop House, Covent Garden, made the shortlist for best residential scheme at the RICS Awards. Hop House is featured in the latest edition of RIBA London 16 as British Homes Awards winner in the category Conversion, Restoration or Refurbishment of an existing building. We are delighted to have acted as MEP, Sustainability and Vertical Transportation consultants for this project which consisted of the conversion and extension of a dated office building into 29 contemporary luxury apartments, including a new two storey penthouse. The aim was to overhaul the image of the building to create an attractive, new address to which residents can relate, whilst living up to the economic challenge to re-use as much of the existing façade as possible. The interiors, developed in collaboration with Dukelease, agents and the interior designer, created a high quality calm feel. The concept of Hop House was derived from the history of the Hop Gardens dating back to the 17 th century.

4 In this edition we re showcasing our 3D drawings created by our skilled CAD team. mtt produces high quality, presentation ready, drawings. We start with schematics and then develop these into BIM compliant 2D/3D drawings. All our hydraulic and ventilation systems are colour coded to help people differentiate the systems.

6 inside mtt ever wondered what it s like to work at mtt? our apprentice Daniel is about to tell you... Tell us a little about yourself? I grew up in London with my brother and my parents. My mum is from Portugal and my dad is from Peru so I can speak both Portuguese, Spanish and English of course! My hobbies include playing lots of sport, my favourite being football - I could play football forever if it was possible. I also love playing video games. Daniel Montejo-Jesus, CAD apprentice How did you come to be on an apprenticeship with mtt and why did you choose it? I found out about this job opportunity through Camden Council, who are very good with handling apprenticeships. I saw an mtt advertisement on the Camden Council apprenticeship website, so I sent in my CV, was called in for an interview, and was really pleased to be offered the role shortly after. So what does a CAD apprentice do? My main role is assisting all the members of the CAD team and supporting them while I learn. I clean up xrefs and I m also getting trained on how to set up and complete my own drawings. Obviously, I am starting with simple stuff but will progress onto more complex drawings as I gain experience. Apart from the specific educational aspects, have you learned anything else from your experience on the apprenticeship? Whilst at mtt, I have learnt that teamwork and time management are key to ensuring the drawings are completed efficiently, to a high standard and within the set deadline. Working at mtt has given me opportunity to improve these skills. Would you recommend an apprenticeship as a route into employment? I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship as it s a great opportunity of learning new skills whilst earning a regular income. 7 and finally mtt charity bake We have many multi-talented individuals (and their spouses) at mtt. Since re-introducing our charity bake back in January we ve had some amazing, creative and VERY delicious contributions to help raise money for the charity Small Steps. Small Steps provides vital assistance to parents who have children, aged 0-5 years with special needs, including cerebral palsy or other forms of motor/sensory impairment.
