Fort Valley Road Flagstaff, AZ (928) ext cm textual material, 36 maps, 13 photographic images (13 prints) Biographical History Albert H. Schroeder was born in 1914 in Brooklyn, N.Y. As an undergraduate at the University of Arizona, he began his career in archaeology. He worked for a time as an assistant archaeologist for the National Museum in New Mexico and for the U.S. Forrest service as a ranger and naturalist. Eventually, he settled in Santa Fe where he worked as an archaeologist. In 1979 he became the president of the Historical Society of New Mexico. Throughout his career Schroeder was a prolific author and editor of works on Southwestern archaeology. Collection contains some 28 manuscripts of books, articles, book reviews and lectures written by Albert H. Schroeder, 36 maps and illustrations, 13 site photographs, and a small amount of biographical information. There are eight maps and one illustration of petroglyphs. The general report maps include 27 maps that appear to be associated with specific Schroeder publications, including articles written for American Antiquity (1965, 1966) and New Mexico Historical Review (1968). Maps show mostly prehistoric distribution and migration of various cultural groups in Arizona and New Mexico.
