13 The Investment We bought the house three years ago. The most important drivers of our decision were: Location. In the golden triangle with easy access to beaches, skiing and Carcassonne, plus airports at Carcassonne, Toulouse, Beziers and Perpignan. Many of our USA visitors actually fly into Barcelona and drive up! Stunning Views A great factor in attracting visitors, together with very safe, traffic free walks through the vineyards and sunflower fields. Independent Apartment A key factor was to be able to live on the property but be totally separate from those renting the house. Visitors often like you to be available but not be seen to be interfering. Good history of rental success.
