2 History of the Upper Rooms One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts -Psalm 145:4 It started as an idea, a hope for a healthier Church growing in the 21st century. A well maintained church opening its doors and facilities to members of the parish and community alike. It would attract people from a wide area. The expanded River Walk cultural corridor would be enjoyed by an ever increasing number of residents and visitors passing and visiting our church on a daily basis. The result is the Upper Rooms consisting of the River Room and the Berlin Room, with an adjacent kitchen that can accommodate parish events and rentable space for community events. It is designed for fellowship, re-ceptions, meals, adult classes, seminars, corporate meetings and other events. This inviting area compliments the spaciousness and majesty of our worship space, and it is large enough to accommodate a portable stage. It has a sound system and a large disappearing audio visual screen for movies, tapes and satellite down link events. 5 Additional Rentals Additional Items Available for Rent: Dance Floor $ Stage/Riser 8'X16' $ Digital Baby Grand Piano $ White Spandex chair covers $4.00 each chair Covers placed, cleaned and removed by our staff Rental Rates: To reserve a date for your event the following will need to be done Complete and sign a contract with the building facilities manager A non-refundable deposit of ½ of the rental and the full security deposit time block you choose and the full security deposit. The security depsoit does cover your required police officer and fire marshal. Once they are paid and if there are no damages to the space(s) after the event th e remaining balance will be mailed back between 7-10 buisiess days after the event. If your guest count is over 200 (2) police officers will be required. Any event after 6pm will require police. The remaining balance will be due on or before 60 days prior to your event date. A confirmed layout will also need to be presented to the Facilities Manager on or before 4 weeks prior to the event date. If a layout is not provided by this time the space will not be set. A cofirmed layout will be completed by the facilities managper and sent for approval. Note that all items above will not fit in the River Room and Berlin Room at one time.
6 Rules and Regulations 1. The balance of the rental fee due (60) sixty days prior to the event. Failure to pay will result in a loss of all funds paid to date and cancellation of reservation. 2. Floor plans and number of attendees must be submitted four weeks prior to the event. 3. LESSEE is responsible for any damage to the church buildings or equipment as a result of theft, negligence, or other cause. This damage, if any, will be determined by Saint Paul s Church. LESSEE will be held responsible for all actions of guests, invitees, employees, sub-contractors, and agents and indemnifies Saint Paul s Church, its agents, and employees for all claims arising from such actions. Lessee is responsible for the facility being restored to pre-event condition and cleanli-ness. The refund of the security deposit is dependent upon facility cleanliness and damage. The Security Deposit Evaluation Form plays a part in determining damage and cleanliness. A. SMOKING is NOT PERMITTED anywhere in the buildings. B. LESSEE may not hang, tape, staple, tack, or glue any materials on the on the interior or exterior walls of the buildings. C. Bubble machines and/or smoke machines are not allowed on premises. D. Rice, birdseed, glitter, confetti, liquid string, flower petals, etc., or other objects may not be used and/or thrown in or on the premises. E. Chase candles may be used and all others must be votive candles or enclosed with hurricane globes. 4. All set up and clean-up must be done within rental hours. Use of the facilities outside of the hours of the rental agree-ment by anyone involved in the event, even if unintentional, is at the rate of $ per hour. One hour being the mini-mum charge. 5. Alcohol and band/music must cease no later than 11:00 pm. 6. A representative of Saint Paul s Church will be present for the entire rental time for each event. Saint Paul s staff is responsible for initial set-up and break-down of all tables and chairs. Saint Paul's Church is unable to accommodate any tables or chairs on the terrace. 7. LESSEE is responsible for adhering to all city and state laws regarding the use of alcoholic beverages and must obtain all necessary alcohol licenses and permits as required by law. Is alcohol being sold, tickets being sold for alcohol, or is there an admittance fee for the event? If yes, Lessee is responsible for obtaining one of the following: an Alcohol Catering Li-cense or a Non-Profit Alcohol License. A copy of all necessary alcohol licenses and permits must be provided to Saint Paul s Church sixty days prior to the event. Bartenders must be at least 21 years of age, alcoholic drinks may not be served to minors, and non-alcoholic beverages must be available.
7 Rules and Regulations 8. LESSEE is required to have present a Richmond County Deputy Sheriff as well as a Fire Marshal at all events in which alcohol is served and/or attendance is expected to be 100 people or above. The charge for both the Deputy and the Marshal is $18.00 per hour each, with a minimum of 4 hours. Saint Paul's Church will secure said Deputy Sheriff and Fire Marshal for the event and pass on the expenses to the Lessee. Any events ending after 6PM require a Deputy as a minimum to be present. Saint Paul s will handle booking and paying the required Fire Marshal and Police officer from the security deposit. 9. Saint Paul's Church has a dance floor available for a $ fee. 10. Extravagant decorations, as determined by the Facility Manager, may not be used. All set-ups must first be cleared by the Facility Manager. 11. Saint Paul's Church rental facility, River Room or Berlin Room, are not available for wedding ceremonies. Contact Ann Marie Reckentine for information about renting Saint Paul s Sanctuary. 12. Saint Paul's Church or the Facility Manager retains the right to cancel this contract, at any time, in the event that the Les-see chooses to violate policies contained within this contract. Event cancellation under these circumstances would include forfeiture of all fees. 13. Saint Paul s requires you to have a licensed caterer for any food that is prepared or served for events in the River Room and or Berlin Room. Also a licensed company and or group that has liability for any alcohol that is to be served in the River Room or Berlin Room.
8 Kitchen Rules LESSEE is responsible for the actions of the Kitchen Users or Caterers and indemnifies Saint Paul's Church, its agents, and employees for the same. Any rules not adhered to will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit or further charges should the security deposit not cover same. Any damage to the building or to any equipment or any loss of items belonging to the LESSOR will be the responsibility of the LESSEE to repair or replace at the sole discretion of Saint Paul's Church. LESSOR reserves the right to disapprove any kitchen user or caterer. 1. The caterer must meet with Saint Paul's staff and tour the facility at least 3 weeks prior to the event. 2. All beverages, food, equipment, extra tables, chairs, etc., must be brought in the day of the event during the rental time and must be removed within the scheduled rental time. 3. Bar set-ups must have protective material under all ice chests. No kegs. 4. The LESSEE may use the stove, ice machine, refrigerator, fan, sinks, and dishwasher. 5. There is NO SMOKING in any of the church buildings. 6. At the end of the rental time, the LESSEE is responsible for leaving the kitchen in the same condition, as it was when the rental began. Kitchen floors must be swept and mopped, the stoves, refrigerator, counters and sinks must be cleaned, the dishwasher must be emptied properly, and the refrigerator must be emptied of all the LESSEE s food. 7. Any of the LESSOR s equipment which are used, must be cleaned and returned to their original places. 8. Bagged garbage is to be taken to the dumpster at the rear of the west parking lot. No trash is to be left inside or outside the building. 9. Terrace, churchyard, surrounding sidewalks, parking lots, and levee shall be policed for debris and trash and cleared of same. 10. Saint Paul's Church is in no way liable for any mishandling of food prepared for any event and LESSEE herby indem-nifies LESSOR, its agents, and employees for same.

10 Berlin Room
11 Sanctuary Information Fees for organ and instrumental support provided and coordinated by the Music Director of Saint Paul s range from $ to $ depending on the amount of music required and the number of musicians and rehearsals involved. A piano is available for use by a pianist of the couple s choice upon payment of a $ rental fee that includes tuning. Arrangements for use of the piano must be made with the Director of Music of Saint Paul s Church. Instrumentalists are allowed in the church, but under no circumstances will any electronic instruments be permitted to be wired into the church s public address system. Details must be arranged with the Music Director of Saint Paul s. The Sanctuary will be available the day before the wedding ceremony for no more than two hours for the purpose of a rehearsal. The rehearsal is from 5pm -7 pm. The Sanctuary will be open not more than two hours before the wedding ceremony. The Parlor will be available at that time for bridal party to dress. A representative of Saint Paul s Church will be present before the ceremony and during the ceremony to monitor compliance with the constraints herein. Saint Paul s Sanctuary can only be rented if the River Room and or Berlin Room are rented for a reception immediately following the ceremony. Photographers and Video in the Sanctuary: Photographs (and making videotapes) of the ceremony are strictly controlled. Only photographers approved by the church will be allowed. Pictures may be taken in the dressing area prior to the ceremony, but no items are to be moved into that area to accommodate such photographs. Flash pictures are prohibited during the ceremony. One professional photographer may take pictures from the rear gallery. (behind the Baptismal Font) Photographs may be taken after the ceremony is concluded. This photography session is limited to thirty minutes. Video cameras are permitted in fixed positions provided they are remotely controlled. Hand-held video cameras are prohibit-ed. Wedding guests should be instructed prior to the ceremony by the bride and groom that taking pictures from the pew is in-appropriate. Fees: The fee for renting the church is $2,000.00
12 Florist Rules LESSEE is responsible for the actions of the Florists and indemnifies Saint Paul's Church, its agents, and employees for the same. Any rules not adhered to will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit or further charges should the security deposit not cover same. Any damage to the building or to any equipment or any loss of items belong-ing to the LESSOR will be the responsibility of the LESSEE to repair or replace at the sole discretion of Saint Paul's Church. LESSOR reserves the right to disapprove any kitchen user or caterer. 1. Delivery of all flowers, equipment, supplies, etc., must be during the rental times. 2. LESSEE may not hang, tape, staple, tack, or glue any materials on the interior of exterior walls of the buildings. 3. All floral materials must be removed during the last hour of the rental. The florist is responsible for leaving all deco-rated areas in the same condition as they were prior to the rental. 4. After the event, all floral trash MUST be properly bagged and taken to the trash dumpster in the west parking lot by the Florist or their designee. There should be no floral trash left inside or outside the building. 5. Saint Paul's Church will not assume any responsibility for items left in the buildings or on the property
