6 LOCATION River Place is located at the corner of Chestnut and Water Streets, in the heart of Downtown s business district. Located just blocks away are the headquarters for major corporations and emerging businesses, a college campus and many annual events that put River Place in the center of it all. Annually, Downtown hosts two major festivals that fill Water Street with patrons. The Azalea Festival, an annual spring community festival founded in 1948, attracts over 200,000 people to the Street Fair located down Water Street and directly in front of River Place.
