The amounts listed are simply intended to give you an estimate of expenses to anticipate. Cost may vary by family size and household habits/needs. One time fees: approximately $170 Deposit of water, electricity and management fee (one-time fee, refundable after the termination of the one-year rent contract): RMB-1000 RMB/house = $162 USD Extra access control card: 50 RMB/card = $7/card Monthly utilities fees: on average $85 USD and up per month. Cable/Internet costs will vary depending upon the bandwidth purchased. The total range of utility expenses usually breaks down as follows: Mobile and Internet: 1,000 RMB ($145 per year for Internet. Monthly mobile charges are approximately 149 RMB/month ($22/month) Gas: 100 RMB = $15 USD (average) Water: 50 RMB = $7 USD (average) Electricity: 200 RMB = $29 USD (average) Non-provided housing allowance: employees will be provided an option of receiving a housing stipend in lieu of the furnished housing provided by the school, so that they may secure housing of their choice. The Housing Allowance will be offered to employees in the following structure: o Individual teacher 5000 RMB/month o Individual teacher with one (1) dependent (spouse or child) 8000 RMB/month o Family with children 9000 RMB/month Employee will be responsible for paying rental deposit, agent fee and obtaining the monthly rental Fapiao (official rental tax receipt) from the landlord for reimbursement from the finance office. Employee is also responsible for paying all apartment utilities, internet connection, management fees, taxes, expenditures, and for any damage to the apartment facility and appliances during your occupancy. First-year employees are strongly encouraged to utilize provided housing for the first year in China. Exceptions to this may be made if the employee is already familiar with obtaining housing in China and doing so will not delay the employee s ability to obtain a residency permit, will not interfere with their integration into the school or distract from required school-year preparation and training. *The upgrade fees listed are based on the typical average fee for the complex. The final, actual upgrade fee will be determined by the difference between the housing benefit and the actual cost of the apartment procured. Costs will vary based on apartment availability at the time of upgrade request.
