Apart from the purchase price are there any other charges I will have to pay? The freeholder will raise an annual service/maintenance charge to cover the agreed services. There will also be ground rent payable to the freeholder on an annual basis In line with normal practice for developments of this type. There will also be the normal building insurance covering both the apartments and the common areas. This will be placed by the Freeholder and charged to individual apartment owners on a pro-rata basis to the size of their apartment. Owners will of course be responsible for their own electricity, gas, water and taxes. Is there a Residents Association? Yes. A residents Association has been formed to give the Apartment Owners a forum for discussion of matters of mutual interest. What are the payment terms for the purchase of my property? A non-refundable reservation fee of 500 is required to reserve the property of your choice. Following the reservation of your property you or your solicitor will be forwarded a detailed information and legal documentation pack. At this point you will be required to exchange contracts when both solicitors are in a position to do so, upon exchange of contracts a deposit of 10% is required (including the 500 initial reservation fee), there is nothing else to pay until completion..
