5 Situation Edgefield is a pretty North Norfolk village situated around 3 miles from the popular Georgian market town of Holt which has excellent shopping, schooling and leisure facilities and is renowned for Gresham s Schools which take boys and girls through from pre-prep to age 18. Further private education is available at Beeston Hall, near Sheringham. Edgefield has a village green and pond, a garage and a popular public house/restaurant, The Pigs, which won Country Life s Country Pub of the Year Award in The North Norfolk Coast, much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is around 7 miles away and is ideal for walking, bird watching and sailing. There are popular golf courses at Sheringham, West Runton and the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in Brancaster. There is a racecourse at Fakenham and many other leisure pursuits in the area. Both King s Lynn and Norwich offer direct rail links to London (about 110 minutes) and Norwich Airport offers a choice of domestic and international flights via Amsterdam (Schiphol). Directions From Norwich: Leave Norwich heading north on the A140 Cromer Road. Follow this road for around 19 miles whereupon you will reach the village of Edgefield. At the crossroads, around 100 yards before The Pigs Public House, turn left, sign posted Edgefield Church. Continue for around 1/4 mile and you will find the village church on your left hand side. Church Farmhouse will then be found opposite the church. Barn living room From Holt: Leave Holt on the B1149 Norwich Road. After around 3 miles you will enter the village of Edgefield. Proceed through the village and after going past The Pigs Public House turn right sign- posted Edgefield Church. Continue for around 1/4 mile and you will find the village church on your left hand side. Church Farmhouse will then be found opposite the church.
