1 Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality October, Page-7 Story of AMRUT Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme KMDA has already initiated the tendering process for the Phase - I of water supply project within Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality under AMRUT. Tender were floated for Detailed Design, Drawing, Construction and Commissioning of Different Capacity R.C.C. Elevated Service Reservoirs with allied works for ward nos. 35 (ESR No. 9), 27 (ESR No. 12), 16 (ESR No. 21), 34 (ESR No. 8), 29 (ESR No. 5) and 20 (ESR No. 15). Tender for land development works were floated for the ward nos. 27 and 29. Total estimated amount for those works is about Crore. Regular monitoring is being carried out by this Municipality for the smooth progress of work. Frequent meetings are being arranged with KMDA officials. KMDA was also offered to establish their site office within this Municipality building for better coordination. Source of water supply i.e. suitable place for intake jetty and layout of the pipelines from intake jetty to water treatment plant (WTP) within this Municipality area will be finalized soon. Detailed Topographical Survey and Preparation of Master Plan for Storm Water Drain To prepare a master plan for water supply network system and storm water drainage network system within Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality, a detailed topographical survey would be carried out dividing the whole municipal area in three zones. Tender was called and L-1 bidders for the three zones have been selected. Work order already issued to them. The survey works are supposed to be completed by December of this year.

2 Repair and Renovation of Existing Parks During FY , repair and renovation of five nos. parks within this municipality (i) Srinagar Giribala School Park, (ii) Mission Pally Park, (iii) Bidyabhusan Park, (iv) Garia Place Park and (v) Srikrishna Pally Park were approved. Financial approval was about Rs Lakh. Renovation of these parks will be completed in all respects shortly and opened for public activities. During FY , approval for three nos. parks were sought amounting to Rs Lakh (i) Model Town Park, (ii) Nabarun Sangha Park (Nandan Colony) and (iii) Natun Pally Park. Estimated cost for those three nos. parks arrived to Rs which has been vetted from the Office of Municipal Engineering Directorate (MED). DPR will be submitted soon to the Office of State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) for approval. Nirmal Bangla Abhiyan(Aamar Sauchalay Prakalpa) Construction of 23,490 numbers of latrine has been started for the purpose of Nirmal Paurasabha under Aamar Sauchalay Project.

With effort and co- operation of CIC (Elec) Sri Kartick Biswas and inspiration of Honble Chairman Dr. Pallab Das, the Municipality has already installed 43 Numbers of 10mt. LED mast with 4 nos of 100W. LED flood light set at important places of 35 Wards with are connections from St. Phase and about 3000 numbers of 25W. LED Street light fixture installed instead of 60W. GLS Lamp. The municipality indicates 35 Nos of places for installation of 10 mt. LED Mast and the total estimate will be sent to MED for their financial assistance, the municipality had arranged to set up 100 no.s special lights at 25 nos of ghats where the idols of Durga puja are immerses. the same lights also sated up at the time of kali puja, chhat puja so smooth and better service about street lighting, the municipality is going to recruit 19 nos of street light man temporally on daily wages basis. The Municipality requests to general peoples and puja committees not to take any electric connection from street phase which may damage entire system of street lighting for excessive load.

6 Housing for Urban Poor (Phase-III) Housing for Urban Poor (Phase-III) related work is scheduled to start after Diwali, % amount of Total 1,90,80000/- (Rupees One Crore Ninety Lakhs Eighty Thousand) which is 54,90,000/- (Rupees Fifty Four Lakh Ninety Thousand) has been sent. Total of 48 numbers of houses are to be made in this phase. Total of 46 units to be developed in this phase and per unit cost will be around Rs. 2 Lakhs 29 thousands. The total area of the room will be around 25 square meter consisting of 1 bed room, 1 kitchen, 1 multipurpose room and 1 toilet. More or less 6 months will be needed to complete those houses. K.D.Mallick renovation K.D. Mallick Garden is one of the most reputed and popular tourist spot of this area. During November, December and January there is a huge rush of people almost every weekend and other holidays. During recent years many complains have been lodged demanding renovation of the garden and other related issues. The Renovation work of the picnic garden of K.D.Mallick is going on with full pace. Construction of a new kitchen set, picnic set and boundary wall are being going on presently. 85% of the total work has been completed till now and rest of the works are being scheduled to complete very soon.

7 Renovation of Rabindra Bhavan Rajpur Rabindra Bhavan is one of the oldest and most renowned auditorium of the locality. The building of the auditorium is very old, so structural damages are there at many places of the building. In this regard immediate steps are taken to repair that building from Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality. Mainly structural repairing and retro fitting works are being scheduled. Tender for that work will be done shortly. A fund of ` 1 Crore are being sanctioned initially and further more will be allotted as per more necessary works.
