Perfectly situated to be within walking distance to a variety of delicious local restaurants, a baker, a butcher and a small grocer's shop. Lovingly decorated and elegantly furnished with a combination of soft, plush fabrics and country style antiques has made this lovely village home comfortable and inviting. Arched and beamed ceilings add to the character of the villa, which gives it a wonderful, authentic ambience. Jardin Fete also offers a delightful walled garden with lawn, private pool and sheltered dining terrace, perfect for relaxing afternoons with a platter of local produce and a glass of the finest French wine. Fitted kitchen/breakfast room with door to the terrace and outdoor dining facilities. Guest WC. First floor: Twin/double bedroom with exposed beams. 3 steps up to: large Master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, WC and seating area. Twin/double bedroom with classic terracotta floors. Grounds: The entrance to the villa is accessed via a short flight of stone steps, no hand rail. Enclosed mature grounds with a small lawn and shaded dining area. Private 9m x 4m pool (Roman steps) with outdoor pool shower and barbecue. Table tennis. Private parking for 1 car behind the house (outside the garden wall) with padlocked chain across. 4 Location & Local Information Jardin Fete is situated in the centre of the lovely village of Cabrières d'avignon, where there are several good restaurants including the bistro famously mentioned by author Peter Mayle. There is an excellent farmers' market selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and wine in nearby Coustellet (3km) on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, the town also has a good supermarket ideal for all your other groceries, even open on a Sunday morning, plus further supermarkets in Apt, half an hour away. The enchanting nearby villages of Gordes (9km), with its weekly Tuesday morning market throughout the summer, Menerbes (10km) and Fontaines de Vaucluse (13km) are an absolute must to visit if you are seeking to experience the essence of Provence. And don't miss the pretty village of L'Isle-sur-la- Sorgue (10km), with its canals, narrow streets and impressive antiques and food market on a Sunday morning. Other markets in the surrounding area include Bedoin, Cavillion and Mazan on a Monday, St. Saturnin les Apt, Lacoste on a Tuesday, Sault-le-Thor, Gargas and St. Remy-de-Provence on a Wednesday as well as a charming but small market in Goult on a Thursday. On Friday mornings the market in Bonnieux is a must; charming if a little touristy or head to Lourmarin, then on a Saturday venture out to Apt, Oppede, Pernes les Fountaines or Uzes. There are of course some wonderful wines in the area and plenty of places to visit vineyards and sample many. If you would like to head to a wine bar, try out Wine Club Bonnieux or head to a wine cooperative such as the Cave de Lumières. Chateau La Canorgue is also a fantastic place to visit with good, organic wines to try. For a change of pace, the wonderfully vibrant and historic town of Avignon (34km) is just a 45 minute drive away and would make an ideal day trip. Page 4
