1 Increase low income housing. That part of our agreement be that we clean inside and outside our dwelling and that we do cleaning campaigns of the streets around our homes. I live in a mobile home and I believe there in mobile home space rent control unfortunately because of this many people lose their homes and I would like someone to take this into consideration. Put pressure on the City and have protests. Have houses in good state. Rent Control Put pressure on the City so that there are more houses for rent. Have better housing and for owners to have rent control and they can use the taxes they pay on the property to make improvements. Make neighborhoods more friendly, clean and welcoming. Welcoming landlords. Have better code enforcement to reduce substandard living conditions. Less rigorous rental requirements. Have rent control. Owners with vacant properties rent for low income. Help clean and keep our neighborhoods clean by educating each other. Through community meetings remind community members this is their community, so help maintain it. Have City work more closely with apartment building owners Protest and make sure city makes this a reality.

2 Inspect of rental properties for good quality of life. Accessible housing. Rent control. I would like to start a Mop Squad which would to around with bags and cleaning clubs to pick up trash. Increase neighborhood participation. Utilize prior programs I can do my part in complying with all city codes in my neighborhoods. Less rigorous rental requirements for low income housing so that everyone can have an opportunity. Increase low income housing to reduce overcrowding and have community garden. Rent control and increase low income housing. Programs to help purchase homes. City should make it easier for residents to improve their property without fear or reprisals or aggressive enforcement. Many residents have negative impression of city code enforcement and are reluctant to seek help. Lower Density!! Educate homeowners who have historic/vintage home the value of their homes - have a class for the community of architectural styles of home to enhance value. Get involved in neighborhood activities. Get to know my neighbors. Owner to take care of property and the city to enforce that they take care of property. Increase low income housing to reduce overcrowding I want the City to check occupants in homes. I want for the house payments to be low so that we don t have a lot of people living in the same house (overcrowding).

3 Have city more involve in renter's rights. Overcrowding! City enforce overcrowding issue. The City should fix Bishop so that there is no violence. Walk safely. Attend City meetings and get informed and provide more support to our community Too many vacant houses, should be put to sell. I want Bishop to be cleaner and without violence. Trash can left on the street to save parking. That we as neighbors create board of directors in the buildings and keep our buildings in good condition. That we as tenants are informed of our rights and responsibilities. Periodically have city inspectors inspect housing. Provide warnings to fix and, if nor repaired, cite landlords. I would attend any workshop that the City organizes. Build more apartments/houses/mobile homes to avoid overcrowding. Make apartments cheaper? Why not make it a requirement that tenants keep the property they live in clean and in good condition, it s our responsibility. Increase affordability and programs to help families in need of housing. The community needs more buildings, low-cost condominiums for people who qualify based on their income.

4 Neighborhood leaders send info to City Council (needs of the area) via to a City that covers all associations or train leaders how to access their page that do not know the process. Create more neighborhood associations by blocks so that we are more involved in the community. Improve neighborhoods - less tagging on walls. The community should avoid overcrowding in family dwellings. More affordable housing. Less development that's geared toward making money for outside businesses. (No gentrification.) We should create some neighborhood watch. More for-sale, market value housing around the train station. As a community we must work together to maintain and improve our public and private (home) clean. Stay involved at a local level to keep government officials in check! Fixing streets and less tagging on walls, more police officers Have a person pay attention to code enforcement, particularly front yards. Ensure greater capacity for existing workers to live in Santa Ana - to give back to the city of employment. I can become more involved in my neighborhood and maybe form an association. Encourage an provide incentives for building of SROs or conversion of old motels/hotels. Encourage and educate residents about granny flats so that safe and attractive units can be built. Provide incentives and encouragement to developers for more low income (quality) housing for our residents - with priority given to Santa Ana residents. Lower the rent of certain houses (mobile homes, apts.?) Community members invest in community.

5 Neighborhood and housing developments contracts must be mad public and guaranteed to be the BEST, not just Become an active participant in holding city accountable for economically viable, but environmentally safe for families. Put addressing neighborhood issues. (tax paying) people's needs 1st!! Increase height maximum limitations in order to provide more affordable options in the downtown. Embrace the fact that it is a city. City. Hold landlords responsible so they can attend to tenants' needs such as repairs. Increase code enforcement so landlords can be fair in their rent fees. Lower density! Support existing vintage housing stock - have pride in our housing - have special programs for rehab according to type - especially historic or vintage - keep character of older neighborhoods. Support a fair proportion of low income housing, work to ensure affordable housing. Continue to let city know (on-line?) when the issues are in neighborhoods. Get involved! In my opinion more laws and police officers. Create more live/work art colonies and community. Report violations of city codes in my neighborhood. Standardize rents to match the income of Santa Ana residents so that housing prices match people's incomes. Enforce building safety codes when homes are put up for sale to remove illegal additions. More affordable housing units! Maintain my property in good condition. More affordable housing. Live/work spaces for artists that are affordable. Better use vacant buildings to support non-profit orgs and their programs (tax write-offs!) Add more housing slots for the housing program. Add more housing structures in more areas of the cities.

6 Develop high quality innovative low-cost housing. Identify architects with the vision to create landmark housing opportunities. Create more affordable, live/work housing for local artists. More affordable housing that offer facilities for all residents - like a community center that offers classes for elderly, youth, young moms, etc. No more low income housing near Santa Ana train station. If the city think Santa Ana Blvd. is a gateway to downtown you must not concentrate low income housing onto one street. Provide more retail, more street friendly atmosphere. Include artists in priority list for affordable housing. Provide artist live/work housing for artists in affordable housing projects. Zone the entire downtown live/work. Allow for rent control like the "Jackson Bill" in NYC. Overcrowding is a big issue. Needs to be addressed. Add better lighting to neighborhoods and fix sidewalk and streets in low income neighborhoods.
