LOT 1: MILL FARM WOOD 2.34 hectares / 5.80 acres Approached directly off the public road, Sand Lane, on its northern boundary Mill Farm Wood is an attractive mixed woodland with a scattering of maturing pine together with naturally regenerated broadleaves including oak and birch. Under a Forestry Commission Licence, valid until 23 June 2024, there is consent for a standard thinning operation. A new post and wire fence delineates the southern boundary. The woodland is understood to have been used to dismantle planes during and shortly after the Second World War. LOT 2: PRIMROSE HILL WOODLAND PASTURE 4.49 hectares / acres An interesting combination of grazing land, mixed broadleaved trees, which have just been thinned, and a belt of newly planted broadleaved trees and shrubs along its western boundary. It is understood this mound had previously been interpreted as a Bronze Age round barrow or fortified rabbit warren.
