This is a two-product, open pit mine, that produces a high grade Seismotite-Pumice Natural Pozzolan material and a second Calcium Bentonite Clay product both having a have a high value commercial market. LOCATION: The Old Dutch Cleanser Mine is located in Kern County, CA just 34 miles north of Mojave, California on Hwy 14. It is one of the only privately owned parcels of land situated in the northern part of Red Rock Canyon State Park. The property is located 170 miles from the heart of the Los Angeles basin industrial areas and 6 miles from the UPRR railroad spurs, located at Saltdale and Cantil, California. ACCESS: A permanent, renewable, twenty-year roadway easement from the Bureau of Land Management without limitation other than the road being limited in width (12 feet) and speed (15 mph). This mine is close to two major highways and good rail transportation. It is easily accessed on good roads and a good location from which to service west coast customers. TWO-PRODUCT Mine: Seismotite Pumice Pozzolan and Calcium Bentonite Clay. SEISMOTITE: The Old Dutch Cleanser Mine contains a very unique Natural Seismotite Pumice Pozzolan deposit and is one of only two deposits like it in North America. It contains a very pure, high white, fine-grained, volcanic seismotite that is a naturally occurring pozzolan that as exceptional properties now being actively looked for by the cement, paint, coatings, plastics, and rubber industries. CALCIUM BENTONITE CLAY: Mine contains a second very large deposit of a high-grade Calcium Bentonite Clay; which has been fully approved for use by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the City and County of Los Angeles, and both Kern and Riverside Counties for use in the construction of landfill liners and caps as well as for the lining of ponds, reservoirs and industrial lagoons. This clay also has markets in the cattle feed industry and as a natural pest and mildew control agent for the organic wine and table grapes. TESTING: OLD DUTCH Calcium Bentonite Clay has been thoroughly tested and approved by the City of Los Angeles, Riverside County, Kern County, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for use on a myriad of lagoon, reservoir and landfill projects. PERMITITING: The Old Dutch Cleanser Mine is a fully SMARA permitted; and has a twenty-year Conditional Use Permit with Kern County which needs to be updated. AFFILLIATIONS: The current owners have excellent relations with the two primary permitting agencies at the CA Division of Mine Reclamation and with Kern County Planning Department, as well as affiliations with the two privately owned grinding mills located at Dunn Siding and Victorville, California where these products have been previously processed, tested, bagged and shipped to markets across the U.S. HISTORY: The Old Dutch Cleanser Mine is a historic and well-documented high quality Seismotite Pumicite deposit that was actively mined back in the 1940 s and 1950 s; and was used for years as the principal ingredient in the Old Dutch Cleanser scouring powder product produced by Cudahy Packing Company and later by the Purex Corporation.
