2 Invitation It brings great honor for us to be appointed as the Host of the 25 th Pan Pacific Congress of appraisers, valuers and counselors, which will be held in Bali, on September This remarkable event is made possible by join efforts of the Indonesian Society of Appraisers (MAPPI) as organizer and supported by Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia as the respective regulating body. PPC is always seen as a significant forum that brings together appraisers, valuers, property counselors and all related professionals as well as stakeholders in the Pacific Basin to share and discuss the current and contemporary issues in the world of valuation and property development. A wide array of topics of interest in its latest development will be discussed in the 3 days of the congress, under the main theme of the Congress : Financial Crisis, Global Uncertainty and Borderless Competition. On behalf of the Indonesian Society of Appraisers (MAPPI) and Organizing Committee of 25 th Pan Pacific Congress, we invite all the delegates to bring along the spouse and family with the intention that both professional development and leisure can be done simultaneously while enjoying Bali s unique culture and natural beauty, also known as Island of Paradise. 3 Welcome to 25th PPC,Bali We are pleased to invite you to be a part of 25th Pan Pacific Congress, which will be held in Bali September Highlighting the reality of today s global economy, the main theme of the Congress is Financial Crisis, Global Uncertainty and Borderless Competition. This biennial international event will highlight a 50 year tradition of cross border relations among 500+ professionals surrounding the Pacific Rim which consists of 14 countries and growing in numbers of participating countries. The congress will be opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia* and followed by Opening Speech from our Minister of Finance*. The Chair of International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) Board of Trustee is invited to give the keynote address, during which he will speak about The Professions Challenges in the Next Decade Lessons learned from the financial crisis. Delegates will also learn from the specially invited international speakers, speakers from member association and representatives of the Central Bank, the Stock Market Supervisory Agency and the Indonesian Capital Market.
