1 Dear Neighbor, Enclosed, you will find a booklet with twelve quality candidates that are running for the new Board of Commissioners for the Stonebridge Neighborhood Improvement and Beautification District, [SNIBD], also known as the Stonebridge Beautification District. Also enclosed is a survey that will help us gather information from our district property owners. Please submit this survey with your ballot in the envelope enclosed. Our new District, established on August 24, 2016, by the Jefferson Parish Council will serve the community of Stonebridge. The primary object and purpose of the district shall be to promote and encourage the improvement, beautification, and overall betterment of the neighborhood located within the boundaries of the district in order to add to the quality of life of district residents by maintaining property values, increasing the tax base, fostering economic growth, and providing for recreational activities. You can view the entire text of the bill at The Jefferson Parish ordinance establishing the district requires a governance board of commissioners. This board is to be composed of seven members. Two members to be elected from the Gretna side of Stonebridge, two members from the Harvey side of Gretna, two members elected at-large from the Stonebridge community and one member will serve by virtue of position as the President of the Stonebridge Property Owners Association. We are fortunate to field a slate of candidates that so broadly and professionally represent our community. I am excited about the future of Stonebridge and the incredible opportunity this new district presents to us to become an even greater model of the safest and most desirable community in all of Jefferson Parish. Each property / parcel receives one ballot. Voter must be property owner in the Stonebridge Beautification District. 2. Each ballot can accommodate up to six (6) votes for candidates. One vote per candidate. Two Commissioners will be elected from the Gretna side and two Commissioners will be elected from the Harvey side. Two Commissioners will be elected at-large. One Commissioner will serve by position as President of the SPOA. 3. The two candidates from the Gretna side receiving the most votes will be the two Gretna Beautification District board members. The two candidates from the Harvey side receiving the most votes will become the two Harvey Beautification board members. The next two candidates receiving the most votes who were not in the top two from the Gretna and Harvey sides of the subdivision will become the two at-large board members. 4. You can only select up to six (6) candidates on this ballot. If you select more than six (6) candidates, then your ballot will be disqualified because we cannot tell who you are voting for. 5.
