6 The Area BELLFLOWER, CALIFORNIA Bellflower is a city in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Bellflower is one of the most densely populated cities with over 50,000 residents. With around 75,000 people on just over six square miles of land, Bellflower is bordered by Downey, Norwalk and Cerritos, Lakewood, Long Beach and Paramount. Bellflower is conveniently located near the Artesia Freeway, otherwise known as State Route 91, passes east and west through the south of the neighborhood, while the San Gabriel River Freeway, also known as Interstate 605, runs to the east of Bellflower, and the Century Freeway, or Interstate 105, travels along the north border of the city. Today, the main focus for city is safety and redevelopment. The city s motto Growing Together, reflects a renewed energy and symbolizes the city s goal to improve the quality of life for all residents and business owners. Hollywood Sports Park a 23-acre complex and the biggest of its kind in the country continues to draw visitors from throughout the region. The city has an informed and involved constituency.
