12 Staron Quality Inspection Staron Worktop/Breakfast bar is manufactured in UK and uses Samsung Staron Solid Surface which is 100% acrylic. It has high resistance to heat, bacterial growth and also impact, making it ideal for domestic and commercial kitchens. It is easy to install and repair if any damage occurs. Although Staron Worktop/ Breakfast bar is repairable and long lasting you must look after it in the suitable way for the worktop to last longer. Please read Staron Care and Maintenance Guide for more information. Before installation you must check for the quality of the material. The goal at Samsung Staron is to provide the highest quality materials to ensure customer satisfaction. As a result, we check and re-check each individual sheet to meet our rigorous quality standards. However, it is the fabricators' responsibility to conduct a visual inspection for defects and colour match for every sheet they work with. WORKTOP Inspection The colours of Staron sheet material could vary between batch numbers due to the complex product cycle. Please follow the guide lines for your best colour match and quality of Staron sheet materials. Check either the batch number or use the material from the same pallet. When ordering, inform us with the project information and request for the same batch number. Inspect the worktops for any discoloration before fabricating. Check for warping/curving/concave or any delamination of the worktops. ADHESIVE Inspection Please read Staron Fabrication Guide book for Staron Adhesive health and safety and its physical properties. When using or storing Staron adhesives please check the following; Correct adhesive colour match for the sheet. Check for any leakage Shelf life (24 months after production date. Ideally stored at 12C 15C.) When purging check for discoloration. Curing time 45minutes after mixing 20c but varies with the room temperature. Homogeneous mixing check the mixer tip and good blending of colours. SINK Inspection Please check the following when you receive your sink; The condition of packaging any damages on the exterior which may have caused an impact on the sink Check for your accessories and details such as the overflow/waste kits and holes. 14 SAMSUNG Staron Solid Surface Care & Maintenance 1. PREVENTING DAMAGE In most cases, Staron Solid Surfaces can be repaired with ease if accidentally damaged. However, be sure to follow these guidelines to prevent any damage to Staron. HEAT DAMAGE: Staron Solid Surfaces have excellent heat resistant properties compared with other ordinary countertops. However, placing hot pans, as well as some heat-generating appliances such as frying pans or pots, can damage the surface. Always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet to protect Staron. Avoid subjecting Staron Solid Surfaces to temperatures over 80 C (170 F). OTHER DAMAGE: Avoid exposing Staron Solid Surfaces to strong chemicals such as paint removers and oven cleaners. Surfaces exposed to these chemicals should be promptly flushed with water. Prolonged contact will cause spots that may require extensive repairs. Do not cut directly on a Staron Solid Surfaces surface; always use a cutting board Run cold water when pouring boiling water into sinks Remove nail polish with a non-acetone-based nail polish remover and flush with water NOTE: Any of the above can affect the surface finish and colour. Dark colours may require more maintenance. Staron solid composition makes it easy to maintain because it is homogenous. The surface can be restored to its original sheen by removing stains and scratches with a detergent. Periodic maintenance is recommended to retain surface quality and appearance. 2. CLEANING SURFACES, SINK & BOWL Occasionally clean the surface with soap, water and an ammonia-based cleanser using a sponge or damp cloth and then dry towel. TO REMOVE SEVERE AND DIFFICULT STAINS: DULL FINISH: Use an abrasive cleanser and a green Scotch-Brite (registered trademark of the 3M company) pad. Rub in a circular motion. SEMI-GLOSS FINISH: Use mild abrasive cream such as Cif, diluted with bleach and a white Scotch-Brite pad. Rub in a circular motion. HIGH-GLOSS FINISH: Follow the procedure for semi-gloss, but use a sponge instead of a Scotch-Brite pad, or use a white polishing compound in a circular motion. 3. DISINFECTING SURFACES AND SINK & BOWL Wipe occasionally with diluted household bleach (water: bleach solution in 1:1 ratio) 4. REMOVING CUTS AND SCRATCHES When Staron Solid Surfaces are scratched or cut, repairs should be based on the following recommendations. Staron Solid Surfaces highly recommend that extensive repairs should be performed by Certified Staron Solid Surfaces fabricators. DULL FINISH: Sand with 180 grit (120 micron) or 220 grit (60 micron) fine sandpaper until the cut and scratch is removed. Restore finish with soap, water and a green Scotch- Brite Pad and match the finish of the adjacent surface. SEMI-GLOSS FINISH: Sand with 400 grit (30 micron) sandpaper, and restore finish with a nonabrasive cleanser and a white Scotch-Brite pad. HIGH-GLOSS FINISH: Sand with 400 grit (30 micron) or 600 grit (20 micron) sandpaper, and buff with a polishing com pound and a low-speed ( rpm) polisher using a wool pad. Finish with wax. Contaminants that can be cleaned with; Water Alkaline Solutions Coffee Fruit Juice Household Soap Hydrogen Peroxide Milk Nail Polish Remover Olive Oil Shoe Polish Soy Sauce Synthetic Detergents Tea Vinegar Water-soluble Ink House Hold Cleaners Cosmetics Crayon Eye Shadow Hair Dye Iodide Solution Ketchup Oleaginous Ink *All of the above sanding and polishing should be done in a circular motion. When such notice is given, all Goods that remain the property of the Company shall forthwith be redelivered to the Company at the Buyer s risk and expense and for the purpose of taking possession of such Goods, the Buyer, for itself, its administrators, receivers, managers, liquidators or trustees in bankruptcy hereby grant to the Company an irrevocable license to enter its premises for the purpose of taking possession or repossession of the Goods PART PAYMENT AND RESALE If notwithstanding the Buyer s default, the Company chooses to enforce this contract, it shall recover and sell only so many of the Goods as may be necessary to obtain the full purchase price, interest and any other sums due from the Buyer with such further sum as represents proper damages for the Buyer s breach of contract. Any surplus Goods or funds obtained from such resale shall be passed on to the Buyer. If the Company chooses to treat this contract as repudiated, the Company shall repay to the Buyer any part payment of the purchase price of those Goods which remains after deduction of an amount representing damages for the Buyer s breach of contract. If the Buyer sells any Goods which remain the Company s property, the proceeds of resale and/or the claims to such proceeds shall at all times be held on trust for the Company and the Buyer shall pay all such proceeds into a bank account separate from all other monies and the Company shall account to the Buyer for any sums in excess of the price of the Goods and other sums payable under this contract. 14. Where goods are delivered by the Company and a receipt of a delivery note signed by the customer is received, the goods will be deemed to have been examined and therefore no claim for damage or loss can be entertained by the Company. The Buyer may not exclude this provision either by making his signature unexamined or by failing to return the signed delivery note or otherwise. 17. NOTICES shall be in writing sent to the address of the appropriate party set out on the face of this contract or to such other addresses as may from time to time (by notice to the other party) be designated, and notices shall be deemed to have been duly given.
