ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AGENCIES 9.1 INTRODUCTION OF SERVICE Electricity will be introduced through a service of the Company only if the Customer has met the provisions of Section Independent inspection agencies provide the necessary inspections for the Customer, and submit proper certification to the Company that the installation complies with all applicable provisions of the National Electrical Code and the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code ( PA UCC ) as set forth in 35 P.S et. seq. and 34 Pa. Code 401 et. seq.. As of September 1, 2004 PECO Energy requires all electrical inspectors from whom we accept cut-in cards to provide evidence: (a) of compliance with the requirements of the Pa UCC; and/or (b) that the electrical inspector meets the requirements related to existing certifications that have been grand-fathered under the provisions of the PA UCC and as set forth by the Department of Labor; or (c) a Department of Labor Temporary Residential or Commercial (as applicable to the work to be performed) Registration Card establishing that inspector s right to continue enforcing building codes; (d) that the inspector is exempt from the requirements of the Pa UCC pursuant to the UCC or due to the decision by the applicable township or municipality to optout of UCC enforcement (in which case the local requirements would apply). PECO Energy will only accept cut-in cards for service entrance facilities of one and two family dwellings from inspectors who provide evidence of their compliance with the Uniform Construction Code or as otherwise set forth above. 9.2 ELECTRICAL INSPECTION SERVICE The Customer or Contractor may engage the services of any independent electrical inspection agency listed in Section 9.5 that have been accepted by the Company to submit certificates of inspection for the introduction of service, except for the restrictions indicated in Section 9.3 Page 1 of 6

2 9.3 MUNICIPALITIES DESIGNATING SPECIFIC INSPECTION AGENCIES Some of the municipalities and townships located within the service area of the Company have traditionally designated, by ordinance, only certain agencies to perform the required inspection services within their respective jurisdictions. During the transition to compliance with the Uniform Construction Code by these jurisdictions, where applicable and in accordance with regulatory requirements, the company will recognize certification of inspection only from duly authorized inspection agencies within that particular municipality. 9.4 INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA Any inspector who performs electrical inspections within the City of Philadelphia must have UCC certification / registration with PA Dept of Labor and Industry, work for an inspection agency recognized by the City, and be registered with the City as meeting criteria in addition to UCC registration and certification. Inspection agencies recognized by the City of Philadelphia are noted in the following list. 9.5 ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AGENCIES Below is a list of Independent Electrical Inspection Agencies that are accepted by PECO Energy. UCC qualification of individual inspectors can be verified on the following public web site maintained by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry: Certified Third Party Agencies NOTE: There are numerous Independent Electrical Inspection Agencies in the surrounding area that can be contacted to perform Electrical Inspections for the introduction of service.
