SPONSORED BY: PROPOSED BY: INTRODUCTION DATE: TO SELL COUNTY TAX TITLE PROPERTY BY NEGOTIATION REQUEST NO Consent Treasurer ===== WHEREAS, RCW allows the County to sell real estate acquired by tax 2 foreclosure where it is found to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to sell the 3 same; and, 4 5 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County The Property Management Committee 6 determined the property be sold by negotiation as per RCW (1 )(b) when the 7 county legislative authority determines that it is not practical to build on the property due 8 to the physical characteristics of the property or legal restrictions on construction 9 activities on the property WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee 12 recommends the Whatcom County Treasurer enter into negotiations with the applicant 13 subject to RCW (1 )(b), when the county legislative authority determines that it 14 is not practical to build on the property due to the physical characteristics of the 15 property or legal restrictions on construction activities on the property; subject to a 16 covenant to bind; and, 17 WHEREAS, RCW requires the Council to establish the minimum price 18 for said unit of property; and, 19 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Code as well as the state law allows the 20 County to reserve from the sale coal, oil, gas, gravel, mineral, ores, fossils, timber or 21 other resources if the Council finds that it is in the best interest to reserve these; and 22 WHEREAS, the principal taxes, title search and foreclosure costs, total $1, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the 24 County to sell: Parcel No I PID PARADISE LAKES COUNTRY CLUB DIV NO 3 TRACT G 28 TWN 40N RGE 05E SEC By negotiation for no less than $1, Page 1
