1 BUILDING CONSENT APPLICATION FEES Building consent application fees are a deposit only. They include in part processing times and inspections. The fees are not determined until all processing is complete, then an invoice may be produced and any extra fees will be required to be paid before the consent is issued. External consultants such as Fire Engineers or Structural Engineers are not included in the deposit but may be required for some consent processing. This is determined on a case by case basis (and usually only relates to commercial buildings). Further fees may accrue throughout the building process but this is subject to the management of the project, which Kaikoura District Council is not involved with. For example, extra inspections booked by builders, agents etc. Just like any extra inspections or processing fees will be charged for, any un-used inspections or processing time will be refunded to the applicant. This will usually be done following the Code Compliance Certificate audit.
