3 who am I? Borja Martínez is an inspiring and motivational architect who has a technical approach to creative design and more than 4 years of work experience. Borja is able to work effectively in pressurized situations and can be relied upon to deliver, irrespective of circumstances. He has a long history of working on all stages of projects from inception to completion. Among other software, he is Autocad proficient and has both office and site experience. After a prolific period in Amsterdam, working as an architect for the young architecture firm NAT architecten (Amsterdam), for the last two years he has been involved in a large scale construction project in the UAE, working in the architectural department of New Al Ain Hospital project with San Jose Contracting. Borja Martínez is now looking for a challenging new position back in Europe, where his contributions count and his efforts are appreciated and hopefully a longterm commitment. 4 5

5 Al Ain Hospital Al Ain (United Arab Emirates) San Jose Contracting (in process) $1.170 billion to fund the New Al Ain Hospital project. The Al Ain Hospital is a 358,000 sq. meter, 713 Bed Hospital and will have underground parking facility for 1500 cars. Out of the 713 beds, 150 beds will be dedicated for rehabilitation. Being built on the theme of a Healing Oasis, the new facility is designed to combine the friendliness of an oasis village with state-of-the-art medical services. Borja Martinez was developing multiple tasks for the architectural department, mainly related with building envelope systems, waterproofing and landscaping packages. 8 professional work professional work 9

14 War memorial Medina de Rioseco (Spain) UVA (academic project) Museum and memorial to remember the battle of Medina de Rioseco, between the Spanish army and the French one. The museum is set just in front of the battlefield and the shape of the building and the garden memorial becomes from the study of the Castilian landscape. The research center is divided in different volumes (+) while the free areas in between those volumes are used to create an itinerary that generates the museum itself.
