1 2 nd Regional Technical Workshop National Funding: build awareness on policy perspectives Location: National Research Council of Italy (CNR) Address: P.le A. Moro 7, Rome Marconi Hall -1 st Floor Timing: 27 th - 28 th November (Monday ; Tuesday ) About InRoad: InRoad aims at contributing to advance towards sustainable approaches related to funding, to life cycle management and to evaluation mechanisms for improving roadmapping of research infrastructures of pan- European interest in Europe. The dialogue among interested parties can facilitate exchange of views and increase awareness of policy issues. Project details: H2020-INFRASUPP , CSA project: InRoad: Towards better Synchronisation of Priority Settings and Evaluation Mechanisms for Research Infrastructures beyond National Relevance. Definition of the RI: Research infrastructure means facilities, resources and related services that are used by the scientific community to conduct top-level research in their respective fields. It covers major scientific equipment or sets of instruments; knowledge-based resources such as collections, archives or structures for scientific information; enabling Information and Communications Technology-based infrastructures such as Grid, computing, software and communication, or any other entity of a unique nature essential to achieve excellence in research. Such infrastructures may be single-sited or distributed (an organized network of resources). [Source: Rationale for the Workshop: The 2 nd Technical regional Workshop aims to contribute to the objectives of WP4 Synchronization and Interoperability of Regional, National and European RI funding Instruments. It will bring together Italian and Foreign experts with different involvement in research infrastructures to stimulate a reflection on national funding role and other sources and funding instruments presenting experiences. The main objectives of the workshop are to: 1. Consider National Roadmapping part of the EU framework for initiatives and actions for RIs. 2. Develop ideas regarding innovation policies, incentives and instruments for RIs services. 3. Acknowledge responsible RIs managers engaged in the pan-european Relevance process. It is expected that this 2 nd regional Workshop will increase awareness of Roadmapping of RIs within the framework Member States and of ESFRI initiatives. Key messages from the Workshop will enable the WP4 partners to highlight the Funding dimension as a key component for sustain RIs of pan-european interest.
